The English rocker attended an event where he revealed he was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in February 2016 during a routine check-up.

“No one knows this, but I thought this was about time I told everybody,” he said as cited by The Independent. “I’m in the clear now, simply because I caught it early. I have so many tests.” The musician went into remission in July.

However, he didn’t hold back when telling the men in the audience to go get checked out.

“Guys, you’ve got to really go to the doctor. Finger up the bum, no harm done,”the rocker cheekily said to the audience.

Stewart was attending the event to help raise money for the  Prostate Project. Prostate Project president Tim Sharp told The Mirror: Experience has shown what a big difference high-profile celebrities can make when they ‘come out’ about their cancer.

“We have no doubt that Sir Rod’s decision to announce his fight with the disease will be equally effective.”
