Rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” can no longer walk as his health continues to be impacted by Parkinson’s disease. Born on Dec. 3, 1948, in Birmingham, England, he first gained fame as the enigmatic lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath. Ozzy’s signature voice and electric stage presence captivated audiences, while hits like “Crazy Train” and “Bark at the Moon” showcased his talent in a successful solo career.

The artist was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003, and following his fourth spinal surgery in September 2023, the legendary rocker dedicated himself to improving his health and mobility, focusing on recovery and adapting to the challenges posed by his condition.

On Feb. 5, 2025, his wife, Sharon Osbourne, 72, opened up to The Sun about her husband’s ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease, shedding light on both his health challenges and the exciting milestone ahead for the couple.

At 76, Ozzy is set to reunite with Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years in his final live concert in July. This significant event is a poignant moment for the legendary rocker. Sharon expressed her joy at this development: “He’s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this.”

Sharon also discussed the realities of Ozzy’s condition, emphasizing the complexities of Parkinson’s.

“Parkinson’s is a progressive disease. It’s not something you can stabilize. It affects different parts of the body and it’s affected his legs,” she explained.

Despite these difficulties, she reassured fans that “his voice is as good as it’s ever been.”

As he approached 2025, Ozzy opened up about his health challenges on his show “Ozzy’s Boneyard” on SiriusXM radio:

“I have made it to 2025. I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” he said

He also acknowledged his struggles:

“I may be moaning that I can’t walk but I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

Sharon also discussed Ozzy’s condition on RadioX, revealing that he works with a physiotherapist daily to keep his muscles active. This is crucial given the numerous surgeries Ozzy has undergone in recent years. She remarked that “he’s fine,” adding: “...as fine as you can be with Parkinson’s.”

“Parkinson’s isn’t something that goes away. You have it forever,” Sharon added.

During an episode of The Osbournes Podcast in 2024, Ozzy expressed the toll the medical procedures have taken on him:

“Tomorrow I have my final surgery on my neck,” he said, adding, “it is gonna be the final surgery because I can’t do it anymore. Regardless of the way it ends up after tomorrow, I’m not doing it anymore. I can’t.”

The rock legend was honest about his daily physical challenges: “My feet feel like I’ve got bricks tied to them when I’m walking.”

Despite this, he remains determined, recalling when he successfully walked upstairs and downstairs for the first time in a while:

“I think it’s the nerves… Then I was thinking, maybe I just need to get up off my ass and walk around the block a few times.”

Ozzy also addressed critics regarding his health battles, firmly telling them to “f--- off,” and asserting, “I’m far from being on my last leg.”

Despite many struggles, Ozzy’s resilience and artistry continue to shine brightly. With a career spanning over five decades, he continues to inspire new generations of musicians and remains a force in the rock world.
