When we need a little cheerful uplifting, music is a great tool. The right song can pick up our spirits and ease our stress. An old fashioned Southern rock band, Blackberry Smoke, understands this idea perfectly. Originating in Atlanta, Georgia, the group has released six albums so far, two of which have soared to the top of the Billboard charts.

Their style is unique. It's a blend of country, rock n roll, blues, and familiar folk rhythms. Each member of the band clearly shows his love of music and his positive attitude both when singing and when being interviewed.

But of all their songs, one took the internet by storm, gathering up 21 million views on YouTube alone. Nicknamed 'the perfect original song, "Ain't Much Left of Me" strikes a chord with almost everyone who hears it.

The lyrics reflect a man who is down on his luck and trying to make a go of it. Anyone who has ever felt down can relate to the brilliantly written lyrics: "Well my fall from grace was a sight to see/Good turned to bad and bad turned to misery."

However, the song doesn't end on a depressing note. The speaker isn't giving up. Despite all the hardships, the feeling is that things will turn around. The singer will keep on fighting. The tune and the delivery reinforce this idea.

The original idea was to just have a couple of acoustic guitars accompany the singers. Indeed, the acoustic guitars are there and are absolutely amazing. But as band member Charlie Starr explains in the video, the music became 'a magnum opus' as they rehearsed.

The video that has caused such a sensation shows the band performing their perfect songs at Southern Grand Studios. These famous studios have housed other southern greats like Neil Young, Roger Miller, and Eric Clapton.

With their long hair, unique beards, low-key style, and mind-blowing talent, Blackberry Smoke has proven they are well on their way to becoming a legendary Southern rock band.
