Robin Williams' Daughter Reveals To Fans What They Can Do To Honor The Late Acting Legend

This year is the 5th anniversary of the legendary actor and comedian Robin William’s death. He passed away in his Californian home by taking his own life. Hollywood has never been the same since the loss of Williams. His death was a true tragedy, but we are happy his children still actively keep his memory alive today.

His only daughter, Zelda Williams followed in her father’s footsteps and became not only an actress but a director in the industry as well.  Zelda has also partnered with campaigns to help bring awareness to mental health. In an Instagram post, she said, “With an estimated 1 in 5 people living with mental illness, ending the stigma around mental health and encouraging honest, supportive conversation is as important now as ever.”

But just last year, Zelda asked the public to do something in honor of her father’s birthday in July. “If you’d like to do something in his honor, volunteer at your local homeless shelter, or look up how to make homeless aid backpacks. Give one in his name. He’d have loved that.”

The 30-year-old also added how it is an emotionally turbulent time for her during these parts of the year. “Everyone who has dealt with loss knows the pain of certain anniversaries, moments full of memory that come round like clockwork and usurp all others, no matter how hard you may try to prepare for or avoid them,” she said.

“Thank you for loving him. Thank you for supporting him and his life’s work. Thank you for missing him. I do too,” she added. She finished off her call to action by saying,  “Mostly, try to spread some laughter and kindness around. And creatively swear a lot. Every time you do, somewhere out there in our vast weird universe, he’s giggling with you,” she said.
