Robin William's Lookalike Daughter Zelda Is Following In His Footsteps

It’s been six years since Robin Williams tragically took his own life. Although the beloved actor might be gone, his memory lives on through his beautiful children, Zelda, Zachary, and Cody Williams

His only daughter, Zelda, is now all grown up and is definitely her father's daughter. At age 31, Zelda is making a name for herself in Hollywood as a writer and director—with a knack for horror films. 

Speaking to E! Online, Zelda explained about how she is now forging her own path in Hollywood, as she stepped away from acting. 

"I think everyone thinks that when kids want to become actors, they are trying to usurp their parents,” she said. 

“I can't speak for most of them, but in my case, that was never going to happen. I had no interest in comedy.”

“ Also, if your dad was the first person on the moon, you don't go, 'I am going to be the first person on the moon a second time.' What would be the point?"

As she grows up and comes into her own, the 31-year-old opts for focusing on what she loves most–horror films. During that same interview, Zelda spoke of her love for unsettling her audience through innovative ideas. Although she feels she’s now truly found her calling, she admits it was quite the journey before she was able to show anyone her scripts. It wasn’t until she met her idol, Guillermo Del Toro, when she plucked up the courage to finally pursue her dream. 

"It was after Dad died, and I think my mom was the only one to have read my work,” Zelda admitted. “I kind of turned around, and I never fangirl—because I have seen it around my dad and don't want to be like that, even though my dad was always so good about it—but I just said your movies meant a tremendous amount to me and I want to be a director."

And the rest, as they say, is history. Just like her dad, Zelda is now making tides in Hollywood, albeit in a different way than he did as an actor in comedy. 

She also makes it a point to honor Robin Williams whenever possible, by raising awareness for mental health or even making donations to important causes in his honor.
