The Black Panther, one of Marvel's hugest films outdid itself by winning three out of seven Oscar nominations earlier in the year. The concept behind Black Panther ensured that the film brought black power into the light and received wide recognition across the world.

Two more Marvel movies, Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp were released after the box office hit The Black Panther but weren’t much of a success. They couldn’t manage to garner enough global gross revenue compared to The Black Panther.

However, the long-awaited Avengers: Endgame is likely to follow into The Black Panther’s footsteps.

While The Oscars aren’t known to be huge fans of these heroic films in which Marvel Studios seems to specialize in, the Avengers: Endgame might just sail through this time. Even if it does, we do not expect it to bag the most prominent titles in the list for reasons best known to the event organizers.

Nonetheless, they shouldn’t ignore one remarkable character that featured in the Endgame: Robert Downey Jr.

Similarly to Michael B. Jordan’s significance in making The Black Panther relevant, so does Robert Downey Jr in the Endgame. He manages to bring the emotional aspect into play in a film that knows no mercy. For 11 years now, Downey has been tied to the Marvel’s journey featuring in Iron Man all the way to acting as the father figure in the Endgame.

Downey deserves major acclamation for the role he plays to make all these films relevant.

Downey’s role as Iron Man plays a pivotal role in making the series of movies under marvel what they are now; a success. He began featuring in 2008 playing Tony Stark in ten different movies. As the game ends, it would seem fitting to give Downey the celebration he deserves for lighting up our Marvel film moments.

The Endgame must strive to remain relevant throughout the year for it to have a chance at winning something at the Oscars. It will be a competitive year with Star Wars also concluding in December which makes it a favorite with less time span to the awards event.

Whatever reasons that may interfere with Downey getting nominated for the Oscars would deem fit to be termed as unfair.

Tony Stark will probably never grace our screens now after this, but he will be missed dearly by superhero movie fanatics.
