RIP Grumpy Cat

The internet sensation named Tardar Sauce, but more famously known as Grumpy Cat, is dead at 7 years old. 

Her owners Tabatha, Bryan and Chrystal Bundesen announced her unfortunate passing on social media alongside a picture of Grumpy Cat’s notorious frowning face.

They wrote, “We are unimaginably heartbroken to announce the loss of our beloved Grumpy Cat.” They cited the cause of death as a severe urinary tract infection that “unfortunately became too tough for her to overcome.”

Grumpy Cat’s illustrious career that included appearing in the Broadway musical “Cats”, getting her own Madame Tussaud’s figure, a Friskies endorsement, and meeting celebrity friends, made her the viral cat queen of the internet, reports the Huffington Post. And to think that it all started with a post on Reddit.

Flash forward six years since the Reddit post, to Grumpy's social media following soaring to 8.5 million Facebook fans, 2.4 million Instagram followers, 1.5 million Twitter followers, and 264,000 Youtube subscribers.

She even “wrote” a book series, the third of which was called “Grumpy Cat: No-It-All: Everything You Need to No.”

Which one is real? Grumpy Cat got her likeness made into a stuffed animal at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.
