A retired school teacher on a mission to pay it forward with kindness had the surprise of her life when she unknowingly came to the aid of a celebrity in Medford, New Jersey.

Ruth Reed made a resolution for three years to randomly treat anyone they saw in need at least once a week, and this resolution is what led to having a story to tell.

This time Ruth found herself at a Wawa convenience store where there was a stranger in line that found himself in need of cash, so Ruth took the opportunity to swoop in and help without being asked according to TODAY.

It appeared to Ruth Reed that the gentleman at the counter could not get his credit card to process and did not have cash on him, so Reed stepped up and covered his tab. As the man was thanking her for her kind gesture, he told her his name was Keith. Reed stated that while she thought he looked familiar, she could not initially figure out who he resembled until he said his name.

The name Keith triggered Reed's memory and she asked him if anyone ever told him he looked like, Keith Urban. Turns out, she was speaking to Urban, the country singer, only it took a little convincing on Keith's part to convince Ruth that he was the real thing. Keith obliged Ruth by taking a photo with her so that she could share her chance encounter with friends and family.

You never know who you are going to run into, nor who you might end up helping one day. Has a chance encounter like this ever happened to you? This just goes to show that a little kindness can go a long way and give you a memory that'll last a lifetime!
