A video from 2002 shows the late Steve Irwin making his debut on Rove Live, an Australian television variety show which aired from 2000 to 2009. The video resurfaced when it was posted on the show's YouTube channel in 2015.

Back in 2002, just four years before his tragic death from a fatal stingray barb to the heart, the Aussie icon and conservationist made his debut on Rove Live, an Australian television variety show which aired from 2000 to 2009, according to IMDB.

Steve comes on stage like a ball of fire. His magnetic energy instantly captivates a wildly cheering audience and host Rove McManus who says to Steve, "You are excitable," as if his first meeting with Steve confirms the rumors of his highly outgoing personality.

Steve is an incredible storyteller. It's as if he uses every muscle in his body when he is describing an event. He combines broad hand movements with his animated facial expressions and vocal sound effects to liven up his stories. Rove and the audience are totally engaged with his presence.

The highlight of the video is when Steve shows Rove how to wrestle a crocodile. Well, it's an inflatable one, but he treats it like a real one anyway. Even when giving important pointers on how to take a croc down, Steve still manages to inject his own humor into it, drawing laughter from the crowd, the host and the studio crew.

The Crocodile Hunter star also talked about non-animal related topics such as his experience with meeting actress Jennifer Love Hewitt backstage. When Rove asked if he drinks coffee, Steve replied saying: "Nah, nah. Top of me head would blow off!"

Steve was taken from us too soon. What's your favorite Steve Irwin moment? Let us know and pass this video along to your friends and family to help his memory live on.
