The season of autumn is not just the time for people to enjoy the changing colors of the leaves and sip on hot cider; it is also the time when moose experience their mating season. During this time, it’s common for moose to wander about in search of a potential mate. While exploring in October 2019, a moose in New Hampshire found himself in a predicament. He ventured out from the woods and made his way into a neighborhood in Bedford before unexpectedly getting stuck in the backyard swimming pool of one of the houses.

Since there were no stairs in the pool, the moose had no way of escaping and was left to wait for hours for someone to come find him and help him out. Once they were made aware of the situation, wildlife officials quickly came to help rescue the moose that was trapped in a residential swimming pool. Video footage of the rescue has been released and showcased just how hard the team from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department worked to get the large animal out of the filled pool.

It took plenty of persistence and creativity on the part of the wildlife officials to coax the moose safely out of the swimming pool, but after some quick thinking and plenty of perseverance, they were able to do just that. The rescue took some hard work and determination from both parties, but thankfully the wildlife team was able to guide the moose back to the safety of the woods.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department explained how bull moose are more likely to be seen out and about during the fall season since it is moose mating season, as per The Irish News. During this time, bulls tend to be on the lookout for mates and wander around searching for one. While one moose was out and about, he accidentally made his way into a residential swimming pool and was stuck there for hours, according to ABC 7.

video of the wildlife officials rescuing the moose has been posted and is quite the spectacle as rescuers had to get pretty creative with figuring out how to save the trapped animal. ABC 7 reported that local conservation officers and wildlife biologists from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department helped the moose out by putting a set of wooden steps in the filled pool since there were no steps in the pool already. Using a rope, the team gently coaxed the large animal to walk toward the stairs and were able to safely guide him out of the pool.

Finding his balance, the moose used the stairs to further push himself up to the edge of the pool, where he was able to finally escape. While the moose was running across the residential backyard, the team from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department continued to guide him in the right direction, so he could go back to wherever he came from in the nearby woods. Hopefully, the moose made it home safely!
