Rescued Dog Falls Asleep In Savior's Lap After Realizing She’s Been Saved

Too many animals are regularly abandoned at shelters and animal rescues all over the world. It happens more often than we would like to think. In fact, some animal control organizations end up euthanizing many animals that are left in their care because they simply do not have the resources to keep them.

It is a fact of life that all animals cost money to care for. Shelters and rescue centers constantly open their doors to new animals who need food, water, and medical care. They often don’t have the money to help every animal that comes to them, so they often take to social media to ask for donations. Many shelters hold fundraiser after fundraiser to raise money for animals in need. They have to beg and plead to get the money necessary to buy food, litter, bedding, toys, and so much more. It can be a tough job for sure.

If you have the time and money to help an abandoned animal, consider doing so. There are thousands of dogs, cats, and other needy animals waiting for their forever homes this very minute. Some are just young puppies and kittens who have been rescued from hoarding situations. Others have been used as bait in illegal fighting rings. Some animals are abandoned because their owners are moving and cannot take care of them.

Bella is one abandoned dog who had to live most of her life in a very small kennel in a city shelter. Located in Romania, the shelter didn’t have a lot of resources to help their animals. Luckily, Howl of a Dog, another organization, rescued her from the shelter and took her to a local veterinarian to have her checked out. As they were driving to the vet, Bella seemed to realize that she was in good hands. She was so tired that she fell asleep in the lap of her rescuer. According to the rescuer, Bella was very trusting and obviously relieved to be free from the shelter. Her only concern was to take in a quick nap in the loving embrace of someone’s arms.
