Animal shelters become the one place forgotten four-legged creatures can call home. A misconception exists that animal shelters are always dreary places. Sometimes, an animal shelter is a place filled with love. A heartwarming tale comes from Spain, and the story involves two animals not known for being close to one another: a cat and a goat.

The two animals do more than play together. The feline contributed support to help nurse the ailing goat back to health. Cody is a rescue cat who seems to feel sympathy towards Iker, the goat. Iker does need some consolation as the poor goat suffered a broken leg. Mercifully, the shelter's staff tends to the injury. Cody knows the staff could use some help, so the cat directs attention to poor Iker.

Sadly, Iker suffers from other health issues beyond the broken leg. Enveloped by illness, Iker deals with dehydration and a tremendous loss of appetite. Kindness and care from humans might not be enough to give Iker a desire to get better. Cody lending a paw may help the situation.

Video of the two animals together brings tears to people's eyes. Cody rests next to Iker and licks at the goat. Cats lick other animals for different reasons. Sometimes, they do so to help clean them. Licking also serves as a sign of affection. Cats may also lick as a way of mimicking how humans pet them. No matter the reason for licking, a cat that does this shows it cares. Affection alone won't help Iker get better, but loving gestures do help. The shelter's staff does its part. Cody's assistance gains appreciation from everyone, especially Iker.

Just as Iker needs to feel good, so do people. Spreading the news about the caring tale of the shelter cat and goat could uplift anyone hearing about it. Show your friends the video. They may never forget it.
