Rescue Dog Refuses To Let Go Of His New Owner’s Arm As They Ride In The Car Together

When Same Clarence adopted Stanely, a bully breed from an animal rescue in New Zealand, he probably didn't realize the dog would grow to become a "Velcro Dog" as Clarence puts it. Stanley refuses to let Clarence stop petting him especially when they are driving in the car.

“We have to be touching at all times,” Clarence said to The Dodo. “He’s very forceful about it.” Stanley was found as a 6-month-old puppy living in an abandoned home with his mother. Clarence decided to adopt Stanley after seeing a photo of the pup.

When Clarence brought Stanley home he was terribly scared. "He was terrified when we got home and it took him an hour to slowly come out of the car,” Clarence said to the publisher. “Once he got out, I gave him a big bath, some food and a comfy bed in front of the fire.” However, Stanley soon warmed to his new home and the affection he was given by Clarence.

“As a pup, he would sleep with me on the bed and we could never not be touching,” Clarence said. “He would lay behind me and always have at least a paw touching my back; if I moved, he moved.”

Clarence explains that now even when they go in the car Stanley has to be in constant contact with Clarence. “If we are watching TV, same thing. I will get paws flying at me until I touch him. It’s just his quirk. If I’m not around he will do it to my housemate as well.”

The proud owner went onto say:

“He just lives to please so goes with the flow, he’s a very happy chappy and a laugh a minute. I’ve never known a dog with such a big personality.”
