Kratu is a competitive agility dog who began life as a rescue dog and relished the attention that performance brought him. At the Crufts 2020 agility show, human companion Tessa couldn’t contain Kratu’s joy as he completed obstacles in his own way. Kratu provided comic relief and an entertaining finale for the festivities.

Tessa’s Morning Smile

The Wood Green rescue group saved Kratu from a life of abuse, matching him with his owner Tessa Eagle Swan when he was just 18 months old. Kratu and Tessa share a special bond. As reported by TODAY, this mixed breed dog gives Tessa hope and a reason to smile every morning, as her emotional support dog.

Encore! Encore!

When Kratu made an appearance at a Crufts agility contest a few years ago, the crowd quickly erupted in peals of laughter. No matter how much Tessa prompted him, Kratu wouldn’t listen. He was so funny that judges invited him to make another appearance at Crufts.

New Trick

Kratu did not disappoint at Crufts 2020. Shortly after hitting the exhibition floor, Kratu launched into his usual routine of disobedience. He stalled in the tunnels and eagerly sniffed the ground for the scent of other dogs. Instead of jumping over a hurdle, Kratu removed the pole and carried it in his teeth around the arena.

Absolute Rascal

Predictably, the crowd went wild over his hilarious antics. One of the judges joyfully exclaimed, “What a rascal! Absolute rascal!” Kratu had stolen the show, or at least a portion of one of its props!

Kratu is an emotional support dog. A few years ago, he was a big hit at a Crufts agility program. Judges enjoyed his performance so much that he was invited back to entertain the Crufts crowd once again.

More of Kratu’s happy-go-lucky style is needed in the world. What do you think of this crazy dog’s antics? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to have an animal in your life that couldn’t possibly ever win a show but is first in your heart. Paint a picture of your prized pet for us or your friends.
