So many people love dogs. But the world can be a harsh place for these beloved animals. For example, in Puerto Rico, there's a place called Dead Dog Beach. It's famous for all the wrong reasons. This is a place where people abandon their dogs. Many of them just don't make it.

But recently, one happy story got its start at Dead Dog Beach. It involves an unusual looking Weimaraner who goes by the name Murray.

A Difficult Start in Life

When Murray was found at Dead Dog Beach, he was having some pretty serious problems. He was ill with distemper. That's a disease that usually kills the dogs infected with it. Distemper affects their nervous systems and respiratory systems. In fact, most of the time, vets don't even treat dogs with distemper. They tend to be so ill that not much can be done for them. Initially, that was the plan for Murray. But it all changed when the vet on the case saw him wag his tail.

The vet took that as a sign. Murray wasn't totally lost. He still had the energy and spirit to survive. And in spite of some challenges like losing his teeth, Murray did respond to treatment for distemper. Though it left him with a very unusual and unique look, Murray has been able to have a great life.

Today, Murray spends a lot of time playing with his family. He loves to roll on his back in the grass, and his family loves to film him playing and running around.
