The 40-year-old actress and comic, who is known for movies like Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect, said in the interview that this year was her “year of health," and that she has decided to stop listening to film bosses who have reportedly paid her to "stay bigger."

According to The Daily Mail, Wilson has lost at least 18kg or approximately 40lbs.

“Weirdly this year was always going to be the year of health, Wilson told The Sun back in June of this year while she was promoting the Amazon Prime Show LOL: Last One Laughing. “I've been naming my years now, and, that's kind of having these resolutions but for the whole year.”

Most recently, Wilson showed off her weight loss on her Instagram account. The post, which features Wilson sporting a blue Alex Evenings dress on her way to a School of St. Jude fundraiser, quickly garnered over 800,000 likes and received a whole slew of positive feedback from fans and fellow entertainment professionals.

Ruby Rose, an Australian model and actress known for her role in the second installment of John Wickwrote, “If I could like this photo numerous times I would.” Meanwhile, Oscar award-winning actress Octavia Spencer was generous with her fire emojis, writing: “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Werk. You delicious babe!!”

In addition to calling 2020 her “year of health,” Wilson also said that turning 40 this year had something to do with her new resolution.

“I turned 40 as well in March and so I thought, this is gonna be it. This is going to be the year for me to just concentrate on the health benefits,” Wilson told The Sun. But Wilson also specified that her health transformation wouldn’t be just about losing weight, though from recent pictures of the actress, it’s clear she did slim down.

“It's not like I want to lose weight and get to around a certain number,” Wilson added in her interview with The Sun. “It's more than that, it's about dealing mentally with why I was overeating and I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger, at times which kind of can mess with your head a bit.”

In the same piece, The Sun reports that the Australian star’s weight loss journey included high-intensity interval training (HIIT), mobility, weight, and resistance training, along with technique and tempo workouts — and that’s with only one day of rest during the week. To stick to that ambitious schedule, Wilson enlisted the help of celebrity personal trainer Jono Castano Acero.

But beyond training at the gym, Wilson also told the tabloid that she’s working on “the mental side” and the “nutrition side” of being more healthful.

“On the nutrition side like it's, it's cool I should probably write a book at some point about it because people seem to be interested,” Wilson said.
