Men who are worth it can be difficult to find sometimes. Maybe you’re looking in all the wrong places, but maybe they’re just a little too sneaky to sense.

Or maybe they’ve been in front of you this entire time, but it’s like finding a needle in a haystack of toxic people.

To truly spot the difference between a man who is worth it and a man who isn’t, we have to look at one thing. It’s all about the effort that they place into their relationship with you. Men who are worth it don’t have time for excuses. Men who aren’t worth it will be full of reasons why they aren’t able to put in the effort. We can categorize these males as “boys,” and males who are worth it as “men.”

Boys are those who are so worried about you achieving success that they can’t be happy for you. They’ll make you feel bad about achieving your goals, and tear you down when they should be bringing you up. Men are those who are there to cheer you on at every one of your accomplishments and are genuinely happy for every single thing that you bring to the table.

Boys are those who cancel on you at the last minute, while men will be the ones there, ready and waiting for you to show up. A real man would never make you wait, and they are always punctual and happy to see you. Boys will manipulate you and treat you in a toxic manner that can be hard to escape from. Men would never treat you any other way than with respect and dignity.

Men will always try their best to make you feel important and would do anything to see you smile because you being happy genuinely makes them happy. They’ll guide you, protect you, and cherish you. Boys fail at every challenge you give them, and always have an excuse for why they were not there for you.

Boys will ghost you when you need them the most. They rarely answer their phones, even if you need them. Men would never leave you hanging and are always available to talk to or lend a shoulder to cry on.

Real men try to sacrifice their own wants and needs in order to make your dreams a reality. Boys will make you feel selfish for wanting them to support you. The number one thing that makes a man who is worth it happy is making you feel fulfilled and satisfied.

They’d even give up some of their own satisfaction in order to make your day a little brighter. Boys tend to be selfish and only think about their own personal wants and needs.

Excuses like “I have to cancel plans,” or “I’m too busy” come from boys. Men will always make time for you, even if their schedule is jam-packed. They know how much it means to you that they’re there for you.

Men who are worth it will never treat you with anything less than respect. They’ll always make you feel like you’re worthy of love, and never have an excuse for why their behavior has been abnormal because they never fail to make you happy. Boys always have an excuse for why they aren’t a good partner.

Men who are worth it hardly ever have to apologize because their behavior is consistent. They know exactly how to treat a woman in a relationship, and it would hurt their feelings to hurt yours. Breaking a girl’s heart is the last thing on their mind.

However, in the event that they did need to apologize, they know when they’re wrong and they know exactly how to make it up to you.

Men are aware of their likes, dislikes, as well as their hopes and dreams. They’ll never stop working towards their goals, but they want you to be a part of it with them to share in their success. They’ll bring you along for the ride, and on the way, they’ll help you by motivating you and inspiring you to reach yours as well.

Boys are those males who don’t want to grow with you. They never talk about having a family, having aspirations, or anything productive.

Men who are worth it are excellent at communication. They never stray away from overusing “I love you,” and will always remind you how much you mean to them. Sharing the love that you guys have together is one of their favorite things, while boys who aren’t worth it will likely try to hide you or put you on the back burner.

Men who are worth it always put in the extra effort. They are constantly outdoing themselves with efforts to make you happy, and always find small and big ways to make you smile each and every single day. Boys will put in the least amount of effort possible and wonder why you aren’t happy with the current state of your relationship.
