Taking a dog for a walk is rarely a pet-owner’s favorite chore. While walking the dog can provide some good exercise and time in the great outdoors, most people view it as a nuisance. However, one dog owner from Newquay, in Cornwall, UK, found that their recent dog walking adventure gave them the chance to see something amazing.

52-year-old Brian Cave was out with his dog in the gardens of his property when he caught sight of a beautiful, pure white bird. He had never seen any wildlife like it and was quick to take pictures of the bird with his camera and also got a few minutes of video footage, reports The Independent. His hope was to find out what kind of bird it was, while also sharing the images with his friends.

Using the photo that he had captured, Brian was able to identify the rare bird as an albino pheasant. Brian, who is a retired ambulance technician, explained to Cornwall Live that he turned to Google to help him identify the bird.

Brian said that the bird just looked unusual and unlike any other wildlife he’s spotted while walking his dog, states Cornwall Live. While it was about the same size as a regular pheasant, the white color assured him that it was more special than most.

The white coloring wasn’t the only thing that Brian says was unique about the pheasant – it also had bright red around its eyes. Instead of acting scared, the bird continued to walk around even once Brian and his dog were drawing close to it.

Brian managed to catch the image of the bird on his own property, leaving him hopeful that he will see it once again. We’re sure that he will be more even more excited to go walk his dog after this amazing occurrence.

How did Brian’s dog take it? Well, surprisingly enough, the springer spaniel named “Blaze” must not have been too startled by the strange sighting. Thankfully, he’s not like many dogs that love to chase birds! While Brian initially wanted to video the pheasant to share it with his friends, he ended up posting it publicly online and it has now gone viral.
