As Royal fans eagerly watch Meghan and Harry complete their last duty as 'senior' members of the British Royal family, it was announced today that the Sussexes have been removed by the Queen from the Commonwealth Day Procession.

The revelation was shortly followed by news that Prince William and his wife Kate pulled out of the procession as well.

For today’s Commonwealth Day service held at Westminster Abbey, the Queen has removed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the official procession. According to BBC News, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will already be seated inside awaiting the Queen's arrival instead of waiting for her outside the church.

Following this news, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, announced that they will also pull out of the procession and await the Queen with Meghan and Harry inside. This marks a change from last year's ceremony, where both couples were part of the procession, a formal entrance that leads the Queen inside the church.

However, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be joining in the procession, greeting the Queen outside the Abbey. Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace has commented on the last-minute changes to today's ceremony.

The Commonwealth Day service will be Meghan and Harry's final appearance as senior working royals, as they prepare to step down from Royal duties on March 31. Today will also be the first time the couple will be seen in public with the Cambridges or Prince Charles and Camilla since mid-November when they attended a Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph. However, they joined the Queen for yesterday's Sunday service in Windsor.
