Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Will Be A Celebration Of ‘Encouragement And Hope’

Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her 70-year reign the first week of June 2022, although the true anniversary was on Feb. 6, 2022. The Platinum Jubilee is to take place over a four-day bank holiday and citizens are encouraged to partake in several celebratory events.
One of the more notable parties, called the Platinum Party, will be on June 4, 2022, which also happens to be Lilibet's first birthday. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter was born in Santa Monica, California and the first photo of her was shared on the family's 2021 holiday card.
The Queen is the country's longest-reigning monarch, making the Platinum Jubilee the first-ever in history. The palace has chosen to celebrate in June rather than February in the hope of better weather. The four-day bank holiday will begin Thursday, June 2, 2022. The Trooping of Colour is planned for that day and it is also the day the Platinum Jubilee beacons will be lit across the UK.
On Friday the 3rd of June, there will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen's reign held at St Paul's Cathedral. Earlier in the day on Saturday, the Queen will attend the Derby at Epsom Downs and that evening is when the Platinum Party will take place at Buckingham Palace. The event is being put on by both the palace and the BBC.
June 4 also marks the first birthday of Prince Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibet. It remains to be seen if they will be in attendance for the Jubilee celebrations. Read on to learn more about the Platinum Party.

The Queen has done something truly remarkable and historical – she is the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. According to Royal UK, she has been the reigning monarch for 70 years now, serving the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
But that's not the only title she holds — she's already the longest-reigning British monarch, a feat she achieved in September 2015. In fact, she's got titles aplenty — the longest-lived British monarch, the longest-reigning current monarch, and the world's longest-serving female head of state in history, among others. The Queen is truly an incredible woman, and at 96 years old, it really looks like there is no stopping her.
Her Majesty has already celebrated plenty of milestones over the course of her life and over the course of her time as queen. She is a mother of four: Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. On top of that, she also has eight grandchildren – including Prince William and Harry – and 12 great-grandchildren – including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie and Lilibet.
The Queen has shared messages of hope over the years mostly around special occasions and holidays. During her 1974 Christmas broadcast, she said:
“In times of doubt and anxiety the attitudes people show in their daily lives, in their homes, and in their work, are of supreme importance. It is by acting in this spirit that every man, woman and child can help and ‘make a difference.’”
She added, “My message today is one of encouragement and hope.”

In 2001, the Queen shared a similar message. She said:
“As we come together amongst family and friends and look forward to the coming year, I hope that in the months to come we shall be able to find ways of strengthening our own communities as a sure support and comfort to us all – whatever may lie ahead.”
Now, the Queen is gearing up for one of her most important celebrations and an iconic moment in history: her Platinum Jubilee. A BBC correspondent said, "There has been some slowing down for several years, but she is still very engaged. Certainly she and the Palace will be hoping this will be an opportunity for people across the United Kingdom to show their continued commitment to, and regard and affection for, this particular monarch."
June 4, 2022, will be a busy day for the royal family as the Platinum Party will be held on the same day as Lilibet's birthday. The party will feature a concert from top artists. The royal family shared:
"The BBC will stage and broadcast a special live concert from Buckingham Palace that will bring together some of the world's biggest entertainment stars to celebrate the most significant and joyous moments from The Queen's seven decade reign. Members of the public will be invited to apply to attend this special event and details of the ballot for UK residents to secure audience tickets will be released in February."
Co-chairman of the pageant, Nicholas Coleridge, described the event, as reported by the Daily Mail:
"'The Platinum Jubilee weekend is an opportunity for the country to emerge re-energized and renewed, expressing optimism and confidence."
