As a young princess, the Queen often wore tea dresses with feminine sleeves. In this photo from 1936, she is seen wearing a delicate dress next to two friendly pups.

A printed dress with cap sleeves became Queen Elizabeth's style in 1940. A young princess learning piano needed something comfortable, but still fashionable to wear at home.

During coronation in 1953, Elizabeth II went from a young princess to an official queen. Her style was appropriately more elaborate, and elevated in comparison to her delicate dress days as a young lady.

In this photo from 1961, the Queen looks sleek and sophisticated with a soft hairstyle and over-the-shoulder shawl. Her style at this point is clearly royal, but still simply and not too over-the-top.

Queen Elizabeth II continued to play with color, as seen with this all-blue ensemble from 1979. The Queen's hat achieved a regal style that was paired with pearl jewelry and a blue brooch.

Donning yet another pop of color, the Queen looked ravishing in this coral outfit. By this point, the Queen's monochromatic suit style had been established, and she was always sure to pair the look with a hat and brooch, as this 1990 photo shows.

During the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2002, the Queen still looked stylish, but a little more casual. She accessorized her green look with a fun, printed headscarf as she enjoyed watching the horses.

In 2010, Queen Elizabeth II wore another all-coral ensemble and accented with white trim and white gloves. In this photo, we see her in her classic hat and suit coat combo, one that the Queen has donned in multiple color variations.

In this 2018 photo, we see the Queen in a more casual version of her daily look. As she arrived at King's Lynn Station, she wore a plaid headscarf and camel coat for a more neutral and subdued appearance.

Whether casual or formal, Queen Elizabeth has certainly provided decades of royal style with wide range and attention to trends.
