The Queen of England shares a public message of Christian encouragement, hope, and love with the public.

The Queen Elizabeth II of England has been making Christmas speeches to her people and to the public for most or all of her reign as queen. Tuesday the Queen shared a bolstering message from Buckingham Palace with the British people that have spread throughout the remainder of the world and become viral.

She encouraged her listeners to hold on tight to their families, faith, and friends. Her speech was prefaced by the Kings College Cambridge choir and was a perfect setting to the hopeful message the 92-year-old queen provided.

She began her speech by reminding her listeners of the 100th birthday of the royal military in the United Kingdom. Then she gave thanks for her personal blessings that occurred this year. These blessings include Prince Harry and the new Duchess of Sussex’s marriage and the healthy birth of their first child. Plus, Princess Eugenie also was married this year. So the Queen's family has been full of romance and happiness during 2018.

The queen also pointed out that there were losses during the year, as well but stated that if a person didn’t love, they wouldn’t grieve. She then remembered her father, who helped build the Commonwealth that now numbers 2.4 billion people, and is one of the larges commonwealths on earth.

Next, Queen Elizabeth asked her people to discard tribalism, stop division, and concentrate on their faith, their friends, and their family. She called her family and faith a constant source of reassurance and comfort for her throughout her long life. The queen also encouraged people with differences to treat each other with respect, and for people to try to understand each other.

Only a few people acknowledged the birth of the baby 2,000 years ago to be the Christ Child. Now, billions of Christian around the earth follow his teachings. The queen then advised listeners to continue with the message of peace and goodwill to all, spreading Jesus’ word. This message is needed as much now as it ever was.

A beautiful choral selection closed the Queen’s stirring speech, as it traditionally does each Christmas season.
