The Queen was smiling wide as she visited the Royal Air Force Marham on Monday. This visit was her first appearance since the leaving of her grandson and granddaughter-in-law. In January while the monarch was away on holiday at her private estate, Sandringham, she had to cancel her annual tea-time meeting with the local Women's Institute due to a cold.

One could say that the Monarch's year had a delayed start. This is attributed to both the unfortunate cold as well as the emergency family meeting that was called after her grandson, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, announced to step away from their duties as senior members of the royal family.

The Queen's visit to the military airbase marked her first public appearance since the annoucnement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit. The Monarch toured the airbase and was presented with demonstrations of how weapons were loaded, canopies were changed, and examples of simulation-based training.

Several photos were posted on the Royal Family Instagram page that showed the Queen and her Monday visit. These photos were coupled with the Queen's previous visit to the RAF Marham back in 1988. The Instagram post stated that pairing the old photo of the visit with the new one symbolized the longtime support that the royal family gives to the military.

The RAF Marham military airbase has more than 3,600 workers and supplies engineering support for the Royal Air Force. The airbase houses the F-35B military aircraft and also serves as an integrated training center for future pilots to train as Lighting Plane pilots.

Through all of the change, the Queen has maintained resilience and therfore has confirmed peoples impression of her reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan's decision. Many people from the royal palace are not sitting well with the exit decision, but when it comes to the Queen, it seems that she has made some peace. The 93-year-old royal mother has come to terms with her grandson's and his family's decision to exit the Royal family and seems ready to move on with the rest of her year. During a 90-minute long meeting wiht Prince Harry, William, and Charles, the Queen sought to ease into adaptation of the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Now that the Queen has sprung into the new year, she is ready to carry-out her royal duties once again.

The Monarch will stop next at the new Wolferton Pumping Station in King's Lynn. Accordig to the station's website, her father George VI officially opened the station back on February 2, 1946. The Queen will visit the station in Norfolk on Wednesday.
