Because of local animal rescue, one puppy is getting a second chance at life. This puppy, now named Hope, was discovered in Newport, Tennessee in a trash can. She was found at 8 weeks old with chemical burns all over her body, about 60%. The worst areas were on her ear and tongue.

Hope was brought to Friends Animal Shelter in Cocke Counter when she was found. They worked with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue which is located in Asheville, North Carolina. Hope has now been transferred there to get round the clock care.

Despite all the work going into her care, everyone is very hopeful about Hope’s recovery. She’s young and is likely to bounce back quickly.

Hope has had to have a lot of work done. She had one major surgery so far to remove a severely damaged portion of her ear. They also had to remove some necrotic tissue from her stomach and chest. Another surgery is anticipated.

Brother Wolf is making sure Hope gets better and that those who harmed her get caught. They are working with the police on Hope’s care. The police are also working to hire an officer for animal control to help with the animal abuse cases in the county.

Meanwhile, Hope is getting all the love she deserves by those at Brother Wolf and others. She is getting many gifts sent by those who were touched by her amazing story of survival.

Hope is now a playful, spunky, and sweet puppy despite everything that has happened to her. She even found her forever home because of her story.

A man who had recently lost his dog asked about Hope after hearing about her story. The shelter knows this man and feels as though they would be the perfect match. Once she is cleared, she will be able to go home with him.

Despite her rough start in life, Hope is finally going to get a life full of love she deserves thanks to animal rescues.
