Colouring books for adults are currently top-sellers in online bookshops. Lately, this unusual pastime has become increasingly popular. Drawing exercises are a simple and easy way to express oneself and this now reportedly also helps combat stress. Drawing exercises help unleash your creative potential. Psychologist Ben Michaelis further adds that there has been a long history of people who turned to colouring exercises for mental health reasons. “Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung tried to implement this strategy so that his patients could divert their complete attention to the colouring task at hand and this focus helped them let go of the subconscious.
