Mothers everywhere should start packing their bags after they read these new findings!

If you have children, you can probably relate to the concept of needing some time for yourself. Do you ever have the urge to run away, somewhere all alone? Maybe you want to bring your partner for some alone time. Or maybe you just need to catch up on some sleep. For this to happen, you would need to leave your children behind while you get some rest!

I’m sure that mothers often dream about booking a few nights in a luxurious hotel suite to relax and sleep in later than they normally would. You could enjoy your freedom with some late night swimming, and a cute date night with your significant other. Even though you love your kids to death and wouldn’t trade them for the world, it’s important to have time to yourself.

The thought of 48 hours, or even 24, without your children nagging and whining sounds amazing, but is it worth the guilt that comes with it?

Turns out, this isn’t just a dream, it’s a necessity to our lives as mothers!

Psychology professor and expert, Dr. Nava Silton, believes that we need this time away in order to be better parents! She recently did an interview with Fox5NY that details just how important this time can be to our mental health. Dr. Silton believes that motherhood is an extremely stressful process. It involves taking on financial burdens, time constraints, and being productive while taking care of children.

By taking time away, she believes that mothers can feel rejuvenated and refreshed! She maintains the importance of taking care of your personal needs in order to be the best mother you can be to your children. So if you have guilt about taking time away for yourself, do it for the sake of your kids!

If time away from your children to refresh your body and mind sounds appealing, you aren’t the only one. More and more mothers in recent times are taking the time away from their kids to rejuvenate, as these vacations become more popular.

In fact, PureProfile has done reports on the subject which state that parents between the ages of 40 and 50 are enjoying more vacations without their kids! They have lovingly nicknamed these couples “Honeyboomers.” 55% of parents who went away without their children reported that their reasoning was simply to relax and rest. Although many of these trips weren’t long-term, they still got to enjoy a few peaceful hours or days of relaxation without the worries that come with raising children.

What do you think about vacationing without your kids? Have you ever taken a trip without them? Don’t worry about feeling guilty anymore, as psychologists believe this time is vital to our success as parents!
