Proud Dads Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Honored Their 12-Year-Old Twins With Special Birthday Posts

Celebrities who are parents have always been wonderful to follow and keep track of, especially those who always celebrate their kids either via adorable bonding moments or just telling the world how grateful they are to be with them. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are two proud dads of their twins. If one would look for any proof, the couple’s Instagram accounts are filled with photos of their kids, which fans have been raving about. In October 2022, Burtka and Harris celebrated their twins' milestone 12th birthday with a special post on social media.

Harris and Burtka are one of Hollywood’s most adorable couples. The pair have their own successful career in the entertainment industry and have even shared the screen alongside each other. However, their amazing chemistry in their real life is what has made them so successful in their marriage and so lovable by many fans all over the world.

Harris has many talents, including acting, singing, writing and producing. He has appeared in many films, theatrical productions and television shows, with some of his most famous, “How I Met Your Mother,” “A Series of Unfortunate Events” and “Doogie Howser, M.D.” His work has earned him several awards and award nominations over the years.

Burtka is also a man of many talents. He is best known as an actor and professional chef. Some of his acting roles come from theater productions as well as television shows, including “How I Met Your Mother” alongside Harris.

Harris has certainly made a wonderful name for himself over the years as a strong performer and a dedicated family man. It’s no surprise that fans have grown to love Harris’ family almost as much as Harris and Burtka love their set of twins! 

Harris and Burtka had their twin kids, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace, via surrogacy in 2010. The family of four has been captivating hearts online and offline since the couple is very public about their love for their two kids. 

The family enjoys making memories together, like going to Disney World. In an interview with People Magazine, Harris revealed that his family travels to Orlando's Disney World every year at Christmas. In fact, he stated that he would continue taking his kids to the resort every year until they "can't stand" him anymore.

"Our kids have grown up appreciating and valuing not only the amusement rides, but the architecture and the imagineering that goes on, both in front and behind the scenes," Harris said. 

He went on to add, "So I still look back on how that has been an important part of their lives and I can't wait to continue it until they can't stand me anymore." He also explained that his twins have been traveling "since they were less than 1 year old." 

Being twins, Gideon and Harper have been very close with each other and stick to one another closely. In a 2019 interview with US Weekly, Harris was asked whether he and Burtka planned on extending their family, with either one more kid or another set of twins. 

“No. I mean, they have each other. They’re twins. So there’s a boy and a girl, and they’re super stoked together,” he said. 

Harris and Burtka have nothing but praise and adoration for their children, especially when they celebrated their 12th birthday in October 2022.

Harris is nothing but an appreciative father. In his Instagram post, he spoke eloquently about the joy that his children bring him. 

“Twelve years old today. Harper and Gideon are, without question, the greatest two things that have ever happened to me. They inspire me, make me chortle, allow me to be an imperfect father, and fill me with a type of love I never knew could exist,” he elaborated.  

Harris went on to explain the usual woes of being a parent: “Being a parent is all-consuming, the most constantly challenging thing David and I have ever done. But so, so worth it. They are remarkable. They are my children. They are my world. I am supremely proud of who they have become, of who they are becoming, and am just so grateful to have them in my life.”

Speaking to New Potato, Burtka revealed that the best thing about being a dad is spending time with his kids, hearing them laugh and even seeing them grow as individuals. On the other hand, Burtka continued to gush about Harper and Gideon in a heartfelt message on his Instagram. He wrote:

“Happy 12th GOLDEN Birthday to these incredible kids! I can’t believe how fast this has all gone! I am so proud of how you are growing up. You are sweet, caring, compassionate, creative and you have the best sense of humor. I am proud to be your dad and I can’t wait to see how the next 12 years evolve. I couldn’t ask for better kids!” 

Although the two seemingly inherited Harris’ hair, the actor told CTV News about their decision not to determine who the two kids’ genetic father is.

"I have no interest in (finding out). We are their parents and I love them both implicitly."
