Okay, The Voice is back and it's going to be a great season!! They started their 16th season Monday night and, if that night's performances are representative of the rest, it's going to be mind-blowing.

This season's coaches are veterans Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, next to Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. Since Legend's introduction to the lineup, the other judges have shown a bit of intimidation next to his talent. But, Blake Shelton decided to that it was time to put the Grammy Award-winning judge into his rightful place.

Gyth Rigdon, a country-singing native of Singer, Louisiana, was the evening's first audition. Blake decided to use his block to prevent Legend from acquiring the 24-year-old's talent for his team

For Monday night's audition, Rigdon chose to use the classic song "Drive Away". It's a song made popular by Dobie Gray in 1973, but it's been covered by artists such as the Doobie Brothers, Garth Brooks, and Waylon Jennings. Singer Dolly Parton did a stunning cover of the song on her variety shows back in 1976, with the help of Anne Murray and Randy Parton.

At Monday night's Blind Auditions, it only took a few bars of the song to tell the judges what kind of talent this talented southern singer really had. Blake instantly wanted him on his team. After a quick turn of the chair, Blake used his block to prevent John Legend from getting Rigdon on his team. Legend had already turned his chair along with Kelly Clarkson.

Shelton told Rigdon, "you've got that Star Search factor." He performed the song like Garth Brooks. Shelton stated that he wouldn't be surprised if Rigdon was in the finale.

As Rigdon was auditioning, the camera caught a glimpse of a father's tears. Rigdon's father had tears rolling out of his eyes as his son performed. Rigdon stated that his father was the inspiration for his love of music. His dad played guitar and wrote songs all his life. He taught his kids to appreciate good music from a young age.

Given the choice, Rigdon went with Shelton, becoming the first team member on the new season.
