Protect Yourself From Any Attack By Learning These 7 Self-Defense Moves

Apr 18, 2018 by apost team

Never let yourself be vulnerable to an attack. It can happen to any of us, so it's crucial that you're prepared for the worst so that you can prevent the worst from actually happening.

Here are the 7 best self-defense techniques you should master for ultimate protection.

1. Learn The Weak Spots

Think about human anatomy for a moment and you can probably imagine a few parts that are especially vulnerable. If you guessed that the eyes, nose, throat, knees, chest, and groin are some of the weakest areas in the body, then you've already got an instinct to protect yourself. It doesn't matter how big your attacker is. If you go for any of those spots, you'll have the advantage.

2. Be Simple And Quick

It's best to surprise your attacker with one powerful move instead of landing a few misplaced punches or kicks. Try to grab your attacker's hand and use one hand to grasp his pointer and middle fingers and the other hand to grasp his ring and pinky fingers. Pull the fingers apart while simultaneously pushing their wrist forward. If you can't reach their hands, aim for landing a blow on their Adam's apple or between their collarbone.

Don't be ashamed of aiming for the groin immediately. It's called a cheap shot because it's a guaranteed way to make them drop to their knees.

3. Handle An Attack From The Front

If they have pinned your arms down, make fists to create space between your bodies then headbutt them with all your force. Once they are dazed, aim again for the groin.

If there is space between you at the beginning of the attack, then use your palm to strike them on the chin upward toward the nose. This will disorient them long enough for you to paralyze them with a groin hit.

4. How To Free Your Hands

Remember what's called "the rule of thumb." Rotate your arm in the direction of your attacker's thumb. When your arm is aligned underneath your attacker's, you can pull as strongly as you can to break free.

5. Handle An Attack From Behind

Attackers know that they can surprise their victims easily from behind.

Try to free yourself by hitting them with the back of your head. Even if you don't make a direct hit, this will still probably cause them to move. Quickly bend over and grab their leg to try to knock them off their feet.

6. Handle An Attack From The Side

Your elbow is an incredible weapon!

Aim for the temple, jaw, or nose to stun them. Then you can land more powerful hits to the chest or groin.

7. How To Escape A Wall

Pinning a victim against a wall makes it less likely for them to escape.
-If your attacker's arms are raised, strike them in the armpits.
-If one arm is pinned, use your free hand to strike their chest.
- Your most powerful technique is to strike with your head. Squat then forcefully jump to bash into their face.
