Principal's Speech Interrupted When Teachers Storm The Stage, And It Becomes An Event No One Will Forget

For many high schoolers, one thing they'd rather not go through is having to sit and have the principal talk to them for extended periods of time. However, one Ohio high school found a clever way to subvert this trope.

It was Homecoming week for Whitmer High School, which is based in Toledo, Ohio. Before the big football game, the students had to sit through a pep rally in order to boost school spirit. However, they first had to listen as the school principal spoke to them.

One can imagine how underwhelming this may have been for many of the students there, and it likely did little to help boost student morale. However, what would happen next was something that would blow the minds of everyone there.

As the principal spoke, one teacher ran up to him and told him to take a seat. Suddenly, a flash mob comprised of teachers took to the floor and began dancing as Bruno Mars' hit song "Uptown Funk" began to flood the room.

However, this was only the beginning.

As the song (which is not only massively successful but has achieved meme status on the internet) played and the teachers danced, they were soon joined by the school's Homecoming court, the resource officers, and even a pair of mascots.

In no time at all, the entire gym floor was packed. It was then that the group on the floor began to act out the "Soul Train", wherein the participants form two lines, and one dancer from each moves down the line, showing off their moves as they do. One teacher, in particular, decked out in school athletic gear and a backward hat, showed off his moves by doing the "worm."

This moment was a favorite for many of the students there, but it was by no means the only neat performance by the staff.

The pep rally, which was organized by Whitmer High teacher Katie Peters, was a massive success. Not only did the teachers have fun showing off their moves, but the students were enthused as well.

Peters not only managed to help the other members of the staff achieve "cool teacher" status with the students, but she also filmed it for the enjoyment of the rest of the world. Perhaps the Whitmer High Homecoming pep rally could inspire other high schools to have fun with the usual trappings of high school life.

If not, it can always provide people with a hilarious dance number by staff and students alike.
