Every time Kate Middleton steps out for a royal engagement or to help those in need, she proves time and again that she is the epitome of grace and elegance and that she has a heart of gold.
The public has seen her mature into the woman she is today — from her early 20s as a student and the beginning of her romance with William to more recent occasions in which she's become one of the most prominent working royals. Known for being poised and classy at all times, she constantly showcases her beauty and grace with everything from her impeccable sense of style to her smart mannerisms and attitude. It's no surprise that she's become a true style icon of the modern age as well as a dearly loved member of the royal family.
She is typically friendly, happy and wonderful when she meets her fans out and about in public — even at official engagements. She has been known to even pose and take pictures with a few lucky admirers. Even today, fans eagerly await the day William will ascend to the throne and make Kate the queen consort.
Not more than a few months since the official royal titles were updated because of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Kate, now having become the Princess of Wales, has continued one of the biggest events she spearheaded way back when she was still the Duchess of Cambridge — the special Christmas Carol Service in Westminster Abbey.
The service was held on Dec. 15, 2022, and featured the Princess of Wales alongside her two eldest children as they all celebrated the holiday season and remembered the late queen.

It was in 2021 that Kate thought of the idea of having a Christmas service. In a special broadcast and Christmas message televised days before Christmas in 2021, Kate explained the reasoning behind the Westminster Abbey inaugural event.
"We wanted to say a huge thank you to all those amazing people out there who have supported their communities. We also wanted to recognise those whose struggles perhaps have been less visible too," she elaborated.
"But I suppose through that separation, we've also realized how much we need each other and how acts of kindness and love can really bring us comfort and relief in times of distress."
The event was filled with heartwarming Christmas performances from well-known musicians like Leona Lewis and Ellie Goulding, among others.
"Music was so important to me during the pandemic as I think it was to so many people too. But above all it's about celebrating the goodwill, the acts of kindness, love, empathy, and compassion to help people come through these difficult times," she also pointed out.
Organized by The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, and specifically by Kate, the 2022 Christmas service was titled "Together At Christmas."
Kate was especially excited about the service, as the Prince and Princess of Wales' Twitter page was filled with videos and photos of the event before and after it took place. On Dec. 14, 2022, the page posted a video of Kate hanging up ornaments on a Christmas tree with the caption, “Final touches ahead of the #TogetherAtChristmas Carol Service tomorrow.”

Taking place in Westminster Abbey, the special music event featured the Westminster Abbey choir singing iconic Christmas carols as well as musical performances by Alexis Ffrench, Craig David, and "Les Miserables" alum Samantha Barks, and even a number from Mel C of the Spice Girls and Alfie Boe.
William, Prince of Wales, was also featured during the Christmas event, along with Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, Hugh Bonneville and Kadeena Cox, as they delivered readings throughout the program.
According to Royal UK, the carol service was dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II and the values she demonstrated over the course of her life, including “duty, empathy, faith, service, kindness, compassion and support for others.”
The pre-Christmas broadcast featured an introduction from the Princess of Wales, as well as short films highlighting individuals who have embodied the values of the late queen in sharing their support for their respective communities.
Afterward, the Kensington Royal Twitter page posted stunning photos of Kate alongside a group of cheerful children, with the caption, “Thank you to everyone who has helped make #TogetherAtChristmas so special, it was fantastic to celebrate inspiring individuals and outstanding organisations with you all.” Another photo showed Kate speaking with a little boy named Theo.
These weren’t the only children in attendance, though, as royal fans were thrilled to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte alongside their parents during the service.
Both the Kensington Royal and Royal Family Twitter pages shared heartwarming photographs that were also uploaded to Instagram. The photo series featured William and Kate with their two eldest children, as well as King Charles III and several other members of the royal family. They referred to the carol service as “a joyous evening” — truly embodying the holiday spirit.
