Our lovely Lady Diana Spencer arrived at the Cannes Film Festival wearing a pale blue silk chiffon strapless dress with a matching chiffon stole designed by Catherine Walker.

She and ex-husband Charles were greeted by the then Lady Mayor of Cannes while attending a gala night in honor of actor Sir Alec Guinness. Judging from the faces in the background, it's safe to say that her outfit stunned.

If Diana were a millennial like Drake, she would be nicknamed 'Champagne Mami,' just for wow-ing 10 years later in this champagne-colored dress also designed by Catherine Walker. Paired with the dress was the Jimmy Choos she had strutted in as she attended the Christie's Party in New York.

We're back to '87, and this time, with an off-the-shoulder neckline and yards of pink satin, the perfect outfit for a gala performance by The Royal Ballet at the Berlin Opera House in Germany. The dress was designed by—you guessed it—Catherine Walker.

From these three outfits we've seen so far, it's clear that Diana liked dressed that flaunted her collar bone and shoulders, one of her best features.

She wore a bolero dress designed by Victor Edelstein by at a dinner in the Elysee Palace in Paris, France during the Royal Tour of France. Boleros are not easy to pull off, but if there's somebody that can, it's the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.

The highlight of her visit to the Pyramids of Giza was what she was wearing. The tabloids were upset that she had chosen a tan-colored outfit, which blended with the desert scenery, instead of something more colorful that would make her stand out. But this fashion icon makes it look like she's posing for Yves Saint Laurent.

She'd arrived at the Serpentine Gallery, London in a grey, beaded, halter-neck dress by Catherine Walker. Only Diana could make such a plunging neckline look this classy, and the way the light hits her truly emphasizes her regality.

This Christina Stambolian number is perhaps her most well-known outfit. Also known as the “I don’t give a damn” dress. Just a couple of days over 26 years go, her ex-husband Prince Charles revealed that he had been unfaithful to her in a much-anticipated primetime television interview.

The next day, it was Diana in a figure-hugging black cocktail dress heading to Vanity Fair’s annual fundraising event for the Serpentine Gallery in London’s Hyde Park who made the bigger splash in the papers.

She rocked this one-shoulder red and black floral gown by Catherine Walker at a dinner at the British Embassy in Paris, France. As Princess Diana so gracefully demonstrated, bold patterns do not have to look ridiculous. If you wear them with confidence, poise, and if you know how to accessorize loud patterns will make you stand out, even if it's 1988.
