Princess Diana’s Lookalike Niece Lady Kitty Spencer Marks Her 34th Birthday With A Heartwarming New Chapter

Born in 1990, Lady Kitty Spencer is the eldest child of Earl Charles Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood. The niece of Princess Diana celebrates her 34th birthday today, and we'd like to take this moment to reflect on her big moments. 

Kitty is often recognized for her striking resemblance to her late aunt, inheriting Diana's timeless beauty. She is the first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, and despite not being a royal herself, Kitty's family, the Spencers, are an aristocratic British family.

Kitty is a distinguished model celebrated for her high-profile collaborations with luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Bvlgari, where she serves as a global ambassador.

Her childhood was marked by tragedy and change. Just 6 years old when her beloved aunt Princess Diana tragically passed away in a Paris car crash in 1997, Kitty also experienced the upheaval of her parents' divorce that same year. 

As a result, she and her three younger siblings split their time between South Africa and the UK, where their father eventually settled.

Growing up in Cape Town, Kitty had a relatively low-key childhood, attending Reddam House, a private school known for its close-knit community. 

Reflecting on her South African upbringing, Kitty expressed in a 2017 interview: "I think a South African childhood definitely gives you wonderful foundations for life, so I'm very grateful that my mother decided to raise me there."

While she's kept a relatively private profile, Kitty was a notable guest at both Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 wedding and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 nuptials. 

In 2021, then-31-year-old Kitty married South African businessman Michael Lewis in a stunning Italian ceremony, wearing a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown. Numerous high-profile guests attended the glamorous event, though neither of Kitty's cousins, Prince William nor Prince Harry, were present, despite her attendance at both their weddings.

In 2019, Kitty shared a throwback post on her birthday that featured her as a child during one of her Barbie-themed parties. She captioned the post:

"29 🎂 Thank you for such beautiful and kind birthday messages today 💗💗 I couldn't have asked for a better day surrounded by the people I love ☀️🙏🏽 Thank you to everybody who made it the most special birthday I can remember (although this Barbie party looked pretty cool too!) 💗"

For her sister Lady Amelia Spencer's 32nd birthday back in 2022, Kitty's younger half-sister from her father Charles' second marriage shared a photo from the day of Kitty's wedding. The sisters were posing on a bed, with Amelia wearing a baby blue bridesmaid robe and bride-to-be Kitty looking stunning in a silky bridal cream robe. Amelia captioned the post:

"Happy birthday to the best big sister in the world! I couldn't love you more @kitty.spencer."

Kitty replied: "I love you with all my heart Biya. Thank you for the best day ever!!"

On March 10, 2024, Kitty surprised her fans by announcing the birth of her daughter in a post that coincided with Mother's Day in the United Kingdom. Later that year on June 30, 2024, she finally revealed her daughter's name, Athena, in a heartwarming post, captioned:

"Athena watching the world go by."

In April 2024, the British model and socialite made her first public appearance as a mother, turning heads with her look at the star-studded Dolce & Gabbana anniversary celebration.
