Princess Charlotte's Fifth Birthday Photos Show Her Celebrating In A Meaningful Manner

May 02, 2020 by apost team

In celebration of Charlotte of Cambridge’s fifth birthday on May 2, the Kensington Palace social media account posted new photos of the birthday girl taken by her mother. Along with six-year-old George and two-year-old Louis, who just had his birthday at the end of April, Charlotte is the middle child of the Cambridge kids.

While the family will celebrate in lockdown this year, little Charlotte is sure to have a wonderful birthday regardless.

Kensington Palace and the Royal Family often release photos of their children ahead of special occasions like birthdays, especially since the Duchess is an avid photographer who studied art history at University of St. Andrews, according to Express. So of course Princess Charlotte's birthday was marked by a special portrait photo of her taken by her mother, the Duchess herself, this April. The image was uploaded and shared via the official Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess. The photo was taken while the Princess was helping her parents do volunteer work, as Vanity Fair reports.

The follow up post on Charlotte’s May 2 birthday was accompanied by another recent picture featuring Charlotte holding a bag of treats. The post was captured:

“Thank you for all your lovely messages on Princess Charlotte’s fifth birthday! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Princess Charlotte, taken by The Duchess this April.”

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge has come a long way since she was born at the famous Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital, London on May 2, 2015 at a healthy 8lb and 3 oz, according to The Sun. Since Prince William and Princess Kate first introduced Charlotte publicly ten hours after her birth — the first daughter born to a direct heir of the throne since 1950 — she has already had an incredible life as part of the royal family. According to the newspaper, Charlotte of Cambridge made her first official public appearance, her royal debut, on Buckingham Palace’s balcony during Trooping the Colour in 2016, the festival marking the British Sovereign's birthday.

Other highlights include Princess Charlotte’s first holiday with the family in March 2016 in the French Alps and her first overseas trip to Canada in September 2016, which The Royal Household website has documented as part of her official biography. Charlotte’s excursion to the French Alps was not only her first time playing in the snow, but it also marked the first time that George had seen snow, too. And during the family’s visit to Canada, Charlotte got a chance to make some international friends after playing with children from Canadian military families.

As for Charlotte’s education so far, after attending Willcocks Nursery School in London in January 2018, according The Royal Household website, Charlotte has graduated to be a student at the private school Thomas Battersea where she attends with her older brother Prince George. The Sun reports tuition fees at the school are £6,300 a term or roughly $7,876.

Apart from that, Charlotte’s brief but fulfilling five-year life is largely unwritten. Will she follow in her mother’s footsteps and study art history at St. Andrews in Scotland, or will she take a different path all together? Only time will tell.

Happy birthday, Charlotte. What do you think of Charlotte's birthday photos? How do you think she's celebrating? Let us know and pass this birthday news on to family members and friends who follow the royal family.
