Princess Charlotte Will Be Inheriting An Exquisite Family Heirloom From Princess Diana

Princess Charlotte of Wales, daughter of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales is set to inherit a very special heirloom that once famously belonged to her grandmother, Princess Diana.

Born on May 2, 2015, at St Mary’s Hospital in London, Charlotte has already made an impact on England as one of the children in the Wales family. Following her birth, several landmarks were illuminated pink to honor the arrival of Charlotte, including the London Eye and Tower Bridge. There were also salutes at Hyde Park and the Tower of London. Just a few days later, it was announced that Charlotte’s full name was Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, honoring both Diana and the previous reigning monarch and her late great-grandmother — Queen Elizabeth II.

The young princess is also extremely well known for bearing a remarkable resemblance to her grandmother, who died in a tragic car accident in Paris in 1997. Although she is still very young, Charlotte has already begun establishing herself as a princess, proving just how adorable yet royal she really is.

Charlotte is the middle child of the Wales family, as she has an older brother, Prince George, and a younger brother, Prince Louis. She is also William and Kate’s only daughter and is currently third in the line of succession to the throne, following her father William and her brother George. As an important member of the royal family, Charlotte is now expected to inherit a very special heirloom that once belonged to Diana. Read on to find out more about this little princess and her exciting inheritance.

As Charlotte continues to grow up, she is showing more and more of her personality. At 7 years old, she is already enjoying life as a princess and is known for having a fiery yet silly personality. In the summer of 2019, Charlotte was spotted sticking her tongue out at the crowd at The King’s Cup regatta. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the princess also caused quite a stir when she barred photographers from attending Louis’ Christening. Charlotte reportedly said, “You’re not coming!”

The daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales is adorable and very confident for a middle child. In fact, her mother said she is "the one in charge" of their household, according to Samantha Burge, the wife of a Royal Marine commando who spent time with Kate and spoke to People. She added:

“(The duchess said) they are both becoming really good friends, George and Charlotte."

Charlotte's big personality is complemented by her sweet older brother, George, and her darling younger brother, Louis. While the young princess has shown that she is willing to defend her brothers, she has gotten into a handful of tiffs with them as well.

Raising kids is no easy feat, not even for royalty. It’s no surprise that children misbehave every now and then, and sometimes they need a little extra guidance from their caretakers to help lead them back toward the right path, whether it be advice from a teacher, an extra helping hand from a babysitter, or words of encouragement from their own parents. On top of that, children with siblings are bound to fight with each other from time to time.

Even William and Kate have had to work on diffusing fights between their three children some days. As of now, their three children are still all under the age of 10: George is 9 years old, Charlotte is 7 years old and Louis is 4 years old. Although all children are in line for the throne, they don’t always act like proper princes and princesses.

In fact, the group is known to get into some small arguments here and there, especially between George and Charlotte. This is the age when children really start to begin to understand the world around them and want to express their opinions, even if it means disagreeing with their siblings.

On Dec. 6, 2021, an episode of Apple’s “Time To Walk” podcast featuring William was released and gave an inside look into what the royal family member’s life is really like. He talked about how even as a royal, he too has dealt with his fair share of consoling his three kids during their meltdowns and diffusing the arguments between George and Charlotte, according to Yahoo News.

Hoping to start off the day on a high note, William and Kate made the decision to begin each morning with a dance around the kitchen with their kids to whichever song they choose. Unfortunately, this seems to be the main cause of arguments between the two eldest Wales children, as they often argue with each other about which song they should play. “Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played,” the Prince of Wales said.

Everyone has their own taste in music, and getting to listen to your favorite song can really make a difference in how a person feels about the day ahead of them. Fortunately for William, this idea — along with the endless days of hearing his kids bicker with one another — has actually helped him figure out a way to put their disputes to an end.

According to Yahoo News, he has since implemented a musical rota, alternating between which child gets to pick the song that is played each morning. This way, everyone will get to hear the type of music that they want to listen to; they just have to wait for their designated day.

Even though the Wales kids have argued in the past over which song they think deserves to be played that particular morning, William revealed that there is one song that always makes them happy and gets them dancing.

“One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira’sWaka Waka,’” he said. “There’s a lot of hip movements going along with a lot of dressing up. Charlotte particularly is running around the kitchen, in her dresses and ballet stuff. She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.”

However, the Prince of Wales explained that his music taste is a bit different from that of George, Charlotte and Louis. Instead of jamming out to the latest pop hits, William typically likes to listen to rock music to help get his morning moving along.

“There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you’re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck,’” he said. “It absolutely wakes you up, puts your week in the best mood possible, and you feel like you can take on anything and anyone.”

It’s clear that the love for music runs in the family, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also like to play music for their children. According to Yahoo News, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” is one of their favorite tracks to play for their son Archie. Who would have known that even royals have such simple tricks up their sleeve to help make their children’s mornings?

Although the children were born into royalty, Kate and William have worked to raise them modestly, trying to keep them out of the public eye. This is why people all over the world are so excited whenever the family is spotted out and about. And whenever they are spotted, they look regal and flawless, carrying on the family legacy well. William is next in the line of succession to the British throne, meaning Kate will likely be a queen in the future.

Back in April 2021, Kate, Charlotte and George were spotted spending some quality time together as Kate took her two eldest children out for a day of shopping on their own accord. According to Elle Magazine, the children were spending their own money and learning how to budget. They were seen shopping at a stationary store called Smiggle at the Kings Road location in London.

Charlotte is also becoming known for bearing a striking resemblance to two female relatives — her grandmother, Princess Diana, and her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Back in 2018, a fan account on Instagram posted side-by-side photographs of Charlotte and Diana and noticed the uncanny resemblance between the young royal and how Diana once looked when she was a toddler herself.

“Omg double of her nana … what a great young lady she will turn out to be with looks as beautiful as her angel nana,” one Instagram user commented.

What's more, as she continues to get older, fans can’t help but notice the similarities she has with her late great-grandmother, Elizabeth, as well. From Charlotte's little smirks to her serious eyes that resemble the queen’s pensive face, she inherited more than royal blood from Her Majesty.

Furthermore, not only do they share physical similarities, but Charlotte appears to have a fondness for horses, just like the queen did. A source close to the royals told Closer magazine back in 2019 that Charlotte asked her parents for a pony for Christmas. While William deemed her too young to ride, they did gift their daughter a toy riding center with accessories. If Charlotte is anything like her great-grandmother then she will be riding horses for her whole lifetime.

It's even sweeter because Charlotte and her great-grandmother shared similar birthdays since they were born just two weeks (and nearly nine decades!) apart. If you compare old photos of the queen at Charlotte's age, the two could even pass as sisters.

Not only do they look alike, but Charlotte and the queen also shared a special bond. On May 23, 2021, Inside Express reported that Charlotte was the Queen’s favorite great-grandchild at the time due to her incredible fondness and love for horses and horseback riding. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, gave more details about their flourishing relationship and how the queen had grown to love her great-granddaughter even more.

“While Prince Philip loved babies, the Queen has always preferred being around children when they are a bit older, especially if it involves teaching them to sit astride a horse,” Ingrid revealed. “Princess Charlotte — who is pony-mad — has always been a favourite.”

After Charlotte was born and it was revealed that there was a new royal girl in the family, the queen was “thrilled,” according to Inside Express. After growing up a little more, Charlotte found a fascination with horses, which only brought her closer to her late great-grandmother.

Inside Express reported that at the time, Kate said the queen “enjoys making the children feel special.” According to Ingrid, she continued to make them feel welcomed and important to the family by including them in her day-to-day conversations and royal speeches. “She is close to them all, mentioning them in her Christmas speeches, in her letters and in conversation,” Ingrid said. “In fact, her family of eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren is what keeps her going.”

While the queen showed an immense amount of care for her family, her fondness for Charlotte was definitely noted. “I think she is very fond of Charlotte, always watching what she's up to,” Kate explained at the time.

Not only does Charlotte look similar to her grandmother Diana, but she is also set to own the same piece of jewelry that Diana once owned and wore. According to GoodtoKnow, Charlotte is expected to receive the beautiful Spencer Tiara, belonging to the Spencer family.

The tiara is from the 1930s and was designed using pieces of jewelry that the Spencer family already owned to create the masterpiece. It was later famously worn by Diana during her wedding to King Charles III (then Prince Charles) in 1981, and again on other special occasions, including a state dinner in Brisbane, Australia, in 1983. It is currently in possession of Diana’s younger brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, as per GoodtoKnow.

A palace insider said:

“William is close with his uncle and has asked if his mother’s namesake tiara can be given to Charlotte someday.”

The insider added, “William is quite aware the earl has daughters of his own, but the two have agreed that Diana’s iconic piece belongs to her first granddaughter.” The tiara is also unlikely to be given to Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibet, as Charlotte was the firstborn daughter of the future king.

Palace insiders also explained that once Charlotte is all grown up, she will have “the pick of the palace jewels” — and two pieces are already set to be put aside for her. While Charlotte is expecting to receive the Spencer Tiara, she is also set to inherit the $18.5 million Vladimir Tiara, which was refurbished in the early 1900s with Wales emeralds, as per GoodtoKnow. Charlotte is reportedly “giddy with excitement” about inheriting the “treasure.”
