Princess Charlotte Looks Like A Young Prince William In Portrait For Her 6th Birthday

May 03, 2021 by apost team

Yesterday, Princess Charlotte turned 6 years old! Born on May 2, 2015, in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London, Charlotte is the only daughter of Prince William and Kate Middleton. As with all of the royal family members, a birthday is a time to release a new portrait, and royal fans are sure to love Charlotte's beautiful photograph for her sixth birthday.

Taken by Middleton, who, the Observer reported, is often hailed as the "unofficial royal photographer," Charlotte looks truly radiant as she smiles brightly for the camera. At six years old, the young princess looks quite grown up. She is the spitting image of her father, Prince William, in the photo.

Just last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their milestone 10th wedding anniversary on April 29, 2021. The couple also released two stunning photographs to commemorate the occasion. This pair of new anniversary photos are certainly an indication that William and Middleton still seem to be very much in love a decade after they first tied the knot.

On the day of their 10th anniversary, the official Instagram account of the duke and duchess posted a never-before-seen video of William, Middleton and their children enjoying themselves at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, the duke and duchess' country getaway. The video featured the smiling family as they walked on the beach, roasted marshmallows over a fire and played in the fields of the idyllic English countryside.

Now that Charlotte's birthday is over, fans are amazed at just how much she looks like a young version of her father in the birthday portrait.

April marked a difficult month for the royal family after the death of Prince Philip on April 9, 2021. Philip was 99 years old, and members of the family described his passing as peaceful. Philip laid to rest in the Royal Vault at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on April 17, 2021. The late prince was buried alongside former kings of England and other royals, the Associated Press reported.

April 21 marked the first year that Queen Elizabeth celebrated her birthday without her husband by her side in over seven decades. This year's celebrations were very small with a "quiet lunch" expected to take place, The Telegraph reported. Her Majesty reportedly spent the day at Windsor Castle surrounded by her staff of 20, who have been dubbed "HMS Bubble."

According to the Mirror, on the queen's birthday on April 21, 2021, Kate Middleton and Prince William made their first official public appearance after getting special permission from the queen. In a tribute to Philip's military service and patronage work, William and Kate visited the Air Cadets at 282 East Ham Squadron in London.

April 23 also marked the birthday of the Cambridge family's youngest child, Prince Louis, who turned 3 years old. The royal couple followed tradition, commemorating their son's birthday by uploading a snapshot of the birthday boy to social media. And, as is typical for these birthday photos, Middleton took the adorable picture, which features a beaming Louis as he sits on a red bike and wears his backpack for school. The photo didn't just mark Louis' birthday — it also marks the 3-year-old's first day of nursery school, a significant milestone for the youngest of the Cambridge bunch.

Royal fans generally have to wait for official photographs and events to be updated about the Cambridges are doing, but a gorgeously made video was posted by William and Middleton on their Instagram handle as a "thank you" to their fans. The never-before-seen home video featured the whole family in a montage at and around the royal couple's Anmer Hall residence.

In addition to the professionally filmed video, Middleton and her husband also graced fans with two exclusive anniversary photos. In both anniversary photos, which have since received quite a response on the Kensington Royal Instagram account, William and Middleton wear ear-to-ear smiles while posing for the camera in casual but tasteful attire.

Apart from the photoshoot, the Cambridge couple also gave back to the community ahead of their 10th anniversary. In their second public engagement since the country's period of mourning Philip's death, William and Middleton visited a youth project in Durham, England, where they spoke with youth who had received the Duke of Edinburgh Award, according to the BBC.

Charlotte's birthday portrait was also taken by her mother and featured the beaming Charlotte, who is wearing a blue floral dress, smiling at the camera as her hair falls over her shoulders. It is safe to say that Charlotte is looking quite grown up these days. Compared to this photo of a young Prince William, Princess Charlotte shows an uncanny resemblance to her father. From their eyes down to their smile, it's truly apparent that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. We're sure Princess Charlotte will take other great traits of her father along with his good looks.
