Since the wedding of The Queen Mother in 1923, it has been a tradition in the Royal Family to have wedding rings made of Welsh gold.

According to the royal website, the wedding rings of The Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, and Princess Diana were actually all made out of the same piece of Gold which came from a Welsh mine, Clogau St David's at Bontddu.

Since there is not more than one gram of that same piece of gold left, The Queen received a 36-gram piece of 21-carat Welsh gold in 1981 which has been used for the Royal Weddings of Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie, according to the royal website.

Princess Beatrice is the next in line to walk down the altar. As Express reports, she will follow the 100-year-old royal tradition of wearing a wedding ring made of Welsh gold.

The Queen gave her permission for the ceremony to take place at the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace that holds about 150 guests. The ceremony will be followed by a private reception hosted by the Queen in Buckingham Palace's garden, according to the royal website.
