Princess Beatrice To Recieve Italian Title After Marrying Fiancé Edo Mapelli Mozzi

Princess Beatrice’s fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi isn’t the only one of the couple who is marrying into royalty.

As Mapelli Mozzi, known affectionately as ‘Edo’ by those close to him, is an Italian count, Princess Bea is set to become a countess, or ‘Contessa’, once the two get hitched.

According to the Daily Mail, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is an Italian count, which means his future wife Beatrice can be styled as ‘Contessa’ or ‘Nobile Donna’.

The publication, which spoke to Mozzi’s father Count Alessandro, 68, about his family’s Royal heritage, reveals the family’s pedigree goes back to the 10th century. The property tycoon is also set to inherit his family’s ancestral seat, an 18th Century neoclassical-style Villa Mapelli Mozzi, in northern Italy once he marries Princess Bea.

“Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation,” Edo’s father told the Daily Mail. “He is a count – his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”

The 68-year-old also made another shocking revelation, however: he hasn’t met Princess Beatrice yet. The Count did, however, say he thought the two were “very suited to each other” and that he’d never seen his son so happy before.

Princess Beatrice and Edo are to wed in May this year at The Chapel Royal, St James's Palace, which can only host up to 150 guests. The reception is set to be held at Buckingham Palace thereafter.

The Queen and other senior Royal family members are expected to be in attendance, and Edo’s three-year-old son Wolfie will reportedly be his dad’s best man.
