Princess Beatrice Is Engaged, Royal Wedding Planned For 2020

It’s time for another royal wedding—Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York is engaged to be married to her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Buckingham Palace has officially announced that Edoardo proposed to the princess in a weekend trip to Italy in early September and that the wedding will take place next year.

“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” the newly betrothed couple said in a statement. “We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

The BBC reports that Edoardo is a businessman and has a child from a previous relationship. He and the princess have had a whirlwind relationship and have been together for about two years.

Beatrice’s parents are “thrilled” at the news, saying that they “watched their relationship develop with pride.” Her mother, the Duchess of York also posted a series of tweets, one which included a close-up of the massive engagement ring that Princess Beatrice will now be sporting. 

Another post was of the photographs that Beatrice’s sister Eugenie snapped of them in Italy. Eugenie was married just last year in a star-studded wedding to her husband Jack Brooksbank.

There must be something in the air as Princess Beatrice’s wedding will be the third royal wedding in the past few years, and all of them were of the Queen’s grandchildren. There are no details on the wedding yet but it will certainly be a global event that will be closely watched by many.
