Princess Beatrice Gives Birth To Baby Girl As She And Husband Mozzi Are Delighted To Announce Arrival Of Their Daughter

Late on Saturday, September 18 in 2021, the royal family gained another anxiously awaited member. The official notifications of the new royal's birth followed this Monday.

It was originally announced on May 19, 2021, that Princess Beatrice, 32, was expecting her first child with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and the news had left the royal family and Queen Elizabeth "delighted." This baby will be the queen's 12th great-grandchild. The announcement was made on the royal family's official Twitter account and has family members and royal fans excited for the future.

Since her announcement, Beatrice has not been seen, however, until her first public appearance in the Royal Box at Wimbledon on July 8, 2021. In photographs from the event, Beatrice is seen glowing in a polka dot black and white dress as she was also joined by soon-to-be-aunt Sophie of Wessex for the event as well.

In March 2021, Beatrice herself became an aunt when Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's sister, welcomed a baby boy, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank with her husband Jack Brooksbank. It is certainly an exciting time for the two ladies' parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson!

And another member of the royal family who must have been overjoyed is the queen herself. Beatrice has always been close to the queen, and this fact was cemented after Beatrice's wedding to Mozzi after Beatrice borrowed not only the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara—which Her Majesty had worn at her wedding to Prince Philip in 1947—but also an iconic Norman Hartnell gown that belongs to the queen. It elevated the idea of "something borrowed" for the wedding.

The birth was announced via the official royal Twitter account. The short notice read: "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday September 18 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London." The tweet was accompanied by a sweet picture of Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their wedding day. A link was provided for the full official royal statement, which read:

"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday September 18 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces.

The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care.

Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf."

The royal couple has not yet revealed what their new daughter will be called. However, the little lady is sure to have a bright future ahead of her. She is already 11th in line to the throne - although of course we hope that nothing happens to make this necessary.

Princess Beatrice herself took to Twitter as well to also give thanks to the midwifes and staff at the Chelseas and Westminster Hospital in London:

"So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.

Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care."
