Princes Harry And William Discredit False Story In UK Newspaper

Brothers prince Harry and prince William have released a joint statement to press outlets dismissing a recently published false story about their relationship in a UK newspaper.

As per The Independent, the statement reads as the following about an unspecified story in an unnamed publication:

”Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between The Duke of Sussex and The Duke of Cambridge. For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.”

There have been stories circulating about a widening rift between the brothers which they seemingly hope to clear up with this statement. When asked directly about these stories in “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” an ITV documentary from last fall, Prince Harry said that “the majority of this stuff is created out of nothing.” He continued to say that he loves William dearly and they will always be brothers.

The joint statement also comes in the wake of Prince Harry’s shocking announcement that he and his wife Meghan Markle will be stepping back from senior royal duties. The couple posted the announcement on their official Instagram last week, and continued on to say that they will be raising their son between the United Kingdom and North America, as well as working on a new charitable entity.

Prince Harry and his brother will meet with the Queen and Prince Charles today at Sandringham with Meghan reportedly joining in by phone from Canada, as per Metro. The group of senior royal officials will hopefully decide on a future for the Sussexes, which the Palace has stated will contain “complicated issues that will take time to work through.”
