On June 6, 2025, Prince William embraced his fatherly side during a royal appearance. In detail, the 43-year-old Prince of Wales attended The Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge, Cornwall, accompanied by his aunt, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 60.

While mingling with attendees, William shared a charming moment with a 7-month-old named George. The encounter was caught on camera by someone nearby, and George’s mother later posted the heartwarming video to Instagram. Since then, the short clip has attracted upwards of 1.7 million views, delighting royal watchers.

Both Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, are known for their natural ease with children at public engagements. Earlier in January 2025, the Princess of Wales surprised onlookers by stopping her car to respond to a little girl shouting, “Hello, princess!” Catherine jogged over, shook her hand, and shared a few words. As reported by the BBC, she explained, “I heard you say, ‘Hello,’ from all the way back there, and I wanted to come and see you.”

The Royal Cornwall Show, where the videos were taken, is a long-running event first established in 1793. Each year, it draws close to 120,000 people, celebrating local culture and agriculture. Alongside entertainment and exhibits, the fair is well known for showcasing livestock, food, and drinks.

Both William and Sophie serve as patrons of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association, the organization responsible for the fair. Their presence at 2025’s gathering highlighted the royal family’s ongoing commitment to supporting traditional community events while also giving the public a glimpse of their more personal, family-oriented side.

On Aug. 7, 2025, a visitor to the fair, Anna Rebecca, uploaded the touching video of her son George meeting the Prince of Wales. She captioned it:

“When George met Prince William at Royal Cornwall show 🤎 I can’t believe I forgot to share this on here at the time. He was absolutely lovely with George & took so much time to chat with us. We were so lucky 🫶🏼 6/06/25.”

In the recording, Rebecca greeted the royal, saying, “Hello! Nice to meet you,” as William crouched down to tickle the infant’s chest and notice his clothing. Smiling, he told the little one:

“I love your top.”

The encounter was lovely, as George shares a name with William and Princess Catherine’s firstborn, Prince George, now 12. The couple also has two younger children: Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

Curious about the baby, the prince asked his age and observed, “He’s so sweet,” before adding, “You’re very smiley.” Wanting to know more, he then asked, “He’s sleeping well?” Rebecca replied with a laugh, “Now he is!”

Before departing, William charmed the baby one last time, saying, “You enjoy your tractors, mister,” and waved to mother and son before continuing through the event.

George’s mother also uploaded another video showing Sophie interacting with her baby. In the footage, George beamed as the Duchess engaged with him and admired his outfit. Rebecca captioned the post:

“George meets the Duchess of Edinburgh 🤎 I’ve had lots of messages to ask if we met the Duchess of Edinburgh, too. She was so lovely & made a real fuss of George. 6/06/25 🫶🏼🤎.”
