Prince William Plans On Getting His Children Involved In Charity 'Just As My Mother Did For Me'

Kate Middleton is known for many things as a senior member of the royal family; from her impeccable taste in fashion to her passion for causes, Kate has proven herself to be an excellent queen consort in the making. However, her role as a mother to her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis has made her a fan favorite as well. Kate has beautifully balanced her duties of her work and of her motherhood well.

The same can be said about Prince William, who has shown that he is an incredible father to all his children. Kate and William have done their best to keep their personal life private while showing how much of a normal family they actually are at the same time. However, with such a prime spot in the public eye, it didn't take long until people began to notice the ways in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge acted toward their three adorable children. Throughout their many outings and interactions as a family, the royal couple has shown nothing but love, affection, and support for each other and their kids.

Experts have also chimed in with their own analysis of the family's interactions with one another, especially the parents with their children. From making sure their children are seen by making eye contact with them to keeping them protected from the cameras by shielding them, Kate and William have shown time and time again that they are incredible parents to their children, and even though they are royalty, they are surprisingly normal parents as well. William has said that he will be raising his children just like his mother, Princess Diana, raised him.

Recently Prince William spent time volunteering for an organization called The Big IssueThe Big Issue is an award-winning magazine that provides employment opportunities to impoverished people. The magazine has a strong reputation as an outstanding brand and a trustworthy news source in the United Kingdom. Writing for The Big Issue in June of 2022, William shared that having all three of his children see good work done in the world is very important to him.

"Homelessness is not an irrevocable fact of life. It is an issue that can be solved," he wrote. "In the years ahead, I hope to bring George, Charlotte and Louis to see the fantastic organisations doing inspiring work to support those most in need – just as my mother did for me," he said.

William had charity and philanthropic efforts instilled in him from a very young age. While married into the royal family, Princess Diana was a part of over 100 charities. Princess Diana took Prince William to support many positive efforts before she died in 1997. Much like his mother supporting many charities, William is known to be part of 30 charities. Aside from teaching his children about volunteering, sources have said the family is strict with their parenting.

A source also told Us Weekly that William and Kate have a "strict but fair" parenting style and that even though George is to be king in the future, they do not spoil or coddle him. The source added, "The royals are renowned for being 'stiff upper lip,' but William and Kate have a more modern approach to parenting and are moving away from that mentality. Open communication is key for them. … [But they] set boundaries and have rules in place."

It is important to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that George has a very regular upbringing. "He's not called Prince George at school and is simply known as George, he mixes with children his own age," the source told Us Weekly.

"Kate and William don't shower him with expensive gifts nor do they over spoil him.…George makes his bed every morning.…All the children have impeccable manners and always say please and thank you."

When speaking with Good Housekeeping in January 2018, body language expert Blanca Cobb talked about how the couple's body language was proof that they are indeed the backbone of their family. "Overall, their attentive body language indicates that they're in tune to their children's emotional needs," she said

Dr. Amanda Gummer, a child development expert and psychologist, also chimed in and told Express UK that Kate's parenting style is "powerful." It's lovely to see the Duchess demonstrate some really powerful parenting techniques," Dr. Gummer said, adding, "[For example] a focus on playfulness and meeting the children where they are at, getting down to their level and meeting their gaze when talking to them."

Most recently, the world got a glimpse into the royal family's parenting during the Queen's Jubilee in June of 2022. Seated next to one another, Middleton and Louis even had a little face-off as the youngster grabbed his mother by the chin before he put his hand over her mouth to shush her! He followed that up by sticking his tongue out at her and poking a number of other cheeky faces at her. Middleton took it in her stride, as any mother would do, and by the end, Louis appeared to have calmed down, as he even gave his mom a kiss and cuddle.
