Being an active member of the royal family comes with plenty of responsibilities, so it can be hard for royals to make time for themselves and their passions. Fortunately for the Cambridge children, Prince William and Kate Middleton have always made sure that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have time to engage in all of their favorite activities and further develop their hobbies.

As time goes on, many of the interests of the royal family members become public knowledge, such as the type of music they enjoy listening to – for William, his favorite is rock – as well as other aspects of their everyday lives. The general public also gets to learn more about how royal parents raise their little princes and princesses.

Back in March 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Camridge met with performers in Galway, Ireland. During this trip, they revealed that their two eldest children had their own hobbies as well. William and Kate said that their son George, who was 6 years old at the time, was starting to learn how to play guitar. Their daughter Charlotte, who was 4 years old at the time, was developing an interest in the sport of gymnastics.

The Cambridge royals disclosed their kids’ hobbies during this special event at Tribeton for Galway 2020, which was the host of the European Capital of Culture for Ireland. The beautiful couple shared some of their own hobbies with those in attendance, but really emphasized how proud they were of their children for pursuing their own interests so full-heartedly.

According to BBC, Kate and William spoke about George and Charlotte's hobbies after partaking in some sports themselves at a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in Galway, Ireland. William and Kate got to watch a performance by the band NØÖV while they were there and afterwards Middleton told the group:

"When did you all start playing? It has been so interesting hearing all the storytelling over the last couple of days. I wish we could have brought George and Charlotte along, they would have loved it. And George is starting to learn the guitar."

The Duke and Duchess also watched a demonstration as a pair of tightrope walkers did a routine on a balancing beam. Kate said:

"Charlotte is really into gymnastics, she's doing cartwheels, handstands, everything. It's so good for their basic skills of balance and coordination."

William added:

"And their flexibility, it's really good for their long-term health, isn't it? We went to watch the Cirque du Soleil recently, it was amazing."

Prince William even got to show off some of his own juggling skills during the event. However, after trying to "up the stakes" with a fourth ball, William lost his perfect juggle with the addition. A juggler from the Galway Community Circus, Juggler Tony Mahon, 31, said he was "very impressed with William's skills."

He added:

"He really exceeded my expectations.  Even trying four balls – that’s next level stuff!"

Kate and William later made an appearance at a traditional Irish pub after the sporting event. Outside of the pub Tig Coili, on King Street, the Cambridge couple met with crowds and talked to the people that were gathered there.

After their three-day tour of Ireland, William and Kate reunited with their talented children: George, Charlotte and Louis.
