Prince William and Kate Middleton are some of the most beloved members of the royal family. The parents of three are fan favorites in the UK and abroad, not only for their family values but also for their charity work. At the time of Kate and William’s marriage, the couple had been together for eight years. They started dating at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where the two completed their undergraduate degrees. Since then, the Cambridge couple has been busy building a family that now includes 4-year-old Prince Louis, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 9-year-old Prince George. Additionally, the prince and duchess are prominent public figures in the United Kingdom who contribute to numerous philanthropic efforts — when they aren’t taking care of the Cambridge brood or posing for romantic photos, that is.
Fans remain interested in all the details about the couple, who have been married for 12 years, both in terms of their love life and parenting. With such a prime spot in the public eye, it was only time until people began to notice the ways in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge acted toward their three adorable children. Throughout their many outings and interactions as a family, the royal couple has shown nothing but love, affection, and support for each other and their kids.
In August of 2022, the royal couple announced that they would be breaking tradition and moving their family out of Kensington Palace and into the countryside. Moving from London to Windsor, the three children will be stepping into a new school and new way of living. The royal family is taking traditions and putting their own modern spin on them.

Released in August of 2022, a senior royal source told ABC News shared that the royal couple wants to give their children a normal upbringing. “As the children get older and more independent you can see why they would feel they have more breathing space in Windsor,” the source shared.
The royal editor at The Daily Mirror, Russell Myers, recently spoke on the “Pod Save The Queen,” Podcast in August of 2022 and shared, “I think it will prepare them for a much better, rounded experience of life — being at home, being close to the Queen, having that environment around them.” “And regardless of your thoughts on sending children to private school, it can surely be a good thing that the family are keeping all together,” Myers said. He then added that Prince William was trying to make up for his past. “And William, I suppose, is trying to right the wrongs of his own childhood,” he shared.
William attended Ludgrove School at the age of 8 before attending boarding school at Middlesex School until age 13. According to Express, author of ‘William & Harry,’ Ingrid Seward, recently shared, “Kate and William are modern parents and will weigh up the decision very carefully.” She went on to say, “I think they’ll wait to see how the children’s personalities develop, and take into consideration whether or not they would be happy to live away from home.” “Having experienced terrible trauma in his own childhood, William is very tuned in to his children’s mental health,” she shared.

During the BBC Documentary, “Football, Prince William and Our Mental Health,” the Duke opened up about his childhood. “I think when you've been through something traumatic in life ... your emotions come back in leaps and bounds because it's a very different phase of life,” he revealed. “And there's no one there to, kind of, help you, and I definitely found it very, at times, overwhelming,” he shared. The Duke also admitted he had a “difficult time” while being away at boarding school.
Making the non-traditional move to the countryside, the royal great-grandchildren will now be attending Lambrook School, which is one of the country’s leading prep schools. Attending this one-of-a-kind school will bring many new changes to the family, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The oldest two children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, will have to attend school not just Monday through Friday but Saturday as well.
This move from London to Windsor helps give the children the opportunity to have somewhat close to a regular childhood. "But this has been driven by what William and Kate want for their children and they have always been resolved to try and have a normal family life," the royal family source also shared with ABC.
"The cottage with four bedrooms gives the family a chance to be closer than ever, with no extra room for live-in staff. The family has mostly escaped to the cottage for holidays, and a source told The Sunday Times that the cottage is the family’s favorite spot to be, as per Cosmopolitan. “They absolutely love it up there, it’s their happy place,” a source shared.
Do you think Prince William’s kids will have a better school experience than he did away at boarding school? We think moving from London to Windsor will give the family a nice break from city life. If you love the royal family — make sure to send this to others!
