Prince William And Kate Middleton Tell Off BBC Presenter After He Mocked Princess Charlotte

Greg James, a member of BBC Radio 1, received a lot of spite from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently after he mocked Princess Charlotte about her first day of school.

Princess Kate and Prince Wills were listening to the Breakfast Show right after Princess Charlotte met her new teacher by shaking hands. This all took place at Thomas' school located in South London. During the show, Greg got a kick out of the scene.

“I saw the photo during the show and said, ‘Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day?’” James told the Mirror.

The royals weren't happy when the host recalled what he thought to be an awkward first day of school for Charlotte. It was unfortunate timing for the royals and the host, but it also made for an amusing back and forth for the public.

After a few weeks passed, Radio 1's Teen Heroes and Greg James went to the Kensington Palace in order to meet and speak with the royals. The Prince and Princess took this opportunity to have a word with the presenter who they felt crossed a line in his reaction.

"They said: ‘We were listening on the morning of little Charlotte’s first day, and we want to talk to you about the handshaking thing...’" James explained.

“I went: ‘Oh God, no!’

“They’d heard me saying this school was so posh they had to shake hands with their teacher every day," James added. "They were not like that in my day."

Greg expressed that he thinks everything will be "absolutely fine". Although the royals are more than celebrities in the U.K., they are certainly not free from heckles, criticisms, and opinions in the media. Fortunately, it seems as though this incident was able to be worked out in-person instead of rehashing it online over and over again.
