The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are the Principals of the Royal Foundation which oversees programs in which they can support communities and make a difference. The foundation's website has recently been updated to include how they will shift their focus on the current crisis. It reads:

"The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will do all it can to support those on the frontline of responding to COVID-19 in the UK. In the weeks ahead The Foundation will be:

  • Working to connect our partners with those who are able to provide practical support to frontline responders and their families;
  • Doing all we can to promote and support the charities that can play a part in helping responders and their families with their mental health needs;
  • And playing our part in the national effort to thank and celebrate all those working on the frontline of this crisis."

It was also recently announced last Sunday that Prince William is the newest patron of the National Emergencies Trust (NET) as per The Daily Mail, and as part of his work he is checking in with charities around the country who will be receiving NET aid. Since royal duties have paused for the moment, the Prince checked in via video chat.

He chatted with the Moorlands Community Charity who delivers home-cooked meals to folks stranded at home, and Dal Dy Dir, a Welsh community farm that supports people with disabilities in their community.

As faces of the Royal Foundation, Kate and Will have also spoken to primary school students whose parents are essential workers and still need to go into work. Their delightful exchanges have been posted to the @kensingtonroyal Instagram account and have cheered up not just the call participants but those watching as well.
