Prince William And Kate Middleton Are Not Rushing To Become King And Queen Consort

As second in line to the British throne, Prince William has been trained and groomed since he was a child to one day become King of the UK.

Although Royal fans might be waiting anxiously for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to fulfill their destinies as King and Queen Consort, it’s safe to assume that the two are okay with taking their time.

It’ll be a while before they take the Throne.

The house of Mountbatten-Windsor has great genes, with many of its members living quite a long life. The current reigning Queen is still kicking it at 93, the Queen’s mother living a whopping 101-year-long life, and Prince Charles is still a Prince at 71. Taking that into account, the Cambridges will probably have to wait long before they take over the British throne.

Although the Royal couple is preparing for their coronation, they still have a long time ahead of them before that actually happens.

Prince William does not consider becoming King a ‘priority’.

Back in 2016, the Duke of Cambridge expressed in an interview that he isn't anxious about becoming King anytime soon.

"I don't lie awake at night waiting to be king," William told BBC radio 4. “… There’s the time now and the space to explore the means of doing another worthwhile job,” he added.

Prince Harry once said “doesn’t think” anyone in his family wants to be King or Queen.

In a 2017 interview with the Guardian, Prince Harry explained that no one in the family was particularly keen on taking over Queen Elizabeth on the throne.

“Is there any one of the royal family who wants to be king or queen? I don’t think so, but we will carry out our duties at the right time,” he said.
