Prince William and Kate Middleton are some of the most beloved members of the royal family. The parents of three are fan favorites in the UK and abroad, not only for their family values but also for their charity work.

At the time of Kate and William’s marriage, the couple had been together for eight years. They started dating at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where the two completed their undergraduate degrees. Since then, the Cambridge couple has been busy building a family that now includes 4-year-old Prince Louis, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte and 9-year-old Prince George.

Additionally, the prince and duchess are prominent public figures in the United Kingdom who contribute to numerous philanthropic efforts — when they aren’t taking care of the Cambridge brood or posing for romantic photos, that is.

With more than 10 years of marriage under their belt, fans remain interested in all the details about the couple, both in terms of their love life and parenting. With such a prime spot in the public eye, it was only time until people began to notice the ways in which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge acted toward their three adorable children. Throughout their many outings and interactions as a family, the royal couple has shown nothing but love, affection, and support for each other and their kids.

As of August 2022, the royal couple announced that they will be moving out of Kensington Palace and into Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire. The family’s life will now look a little different moving from the city to the countryside.

Released in August of 2022, a senior royal source told ABC News that the royal couple wants to give their children a normal upbringing. “As the children get older and more independent you can see why they would feel they have more breathing space in Windsor,” the source shared. Not only is the cottage more family-friendly compared to Kensington Palace, but it is also closer to the Duchess of Cambridge's family.

"This move puts them much closer to the Middletons and Kate is very close to her family,” the source shared. “It also emulates in many ways the upbringing (Kate) had in rural Berkshire, which she has spoken fondly of and I think has always had a big influence over how the Cambridges have shaped their family life."

The four-bedroom home was originally built in 1831 and was known for being a tea house for Queen Adelaide. According to Vogue, in 1941 the cottage became a home that the queen lent to royal family members or staff. The home received updates and renovations in 1955 and continued up until 2015.

The Cambridge's move to Berkshire will mean that the queen's great-grandchildren will be just a 10-minute walk away. "William wants to be in Windsor to be nearer the queen too, as Windsor Castle is the new royal hub as Buckingham Palace is still undergoing renovations," a royal source told ABC. Not only is the cottage closer to the queen but it is also close to schools that the royal family is eager to put their children into.

The royal great-grandchildren will now be attending Lambrook School which is one of the country’s leading prep schools. Attending this one-of-a-kind school will bring many new changes to the family, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The oldest two children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George will have to attend school not just Monday through Friday, but Saturday as well.

"At Prep level, pupils take part in football, rugby, hockey, athletics, netball, and cricket. Cricket and football are now both compulsory for our girls and we have had some fantastic success in these disciplines,” the school website said.

The family will essentially only have Sunday as their weekend and time to soak up family time. However, one plus to attending Lambrook is that students have three weeks off for Christmas break, and three weeks off for Easter break, on top of their two-month summer break.

Aside from having a six-day school week, the children will also have the opportunity to attend unique school trips. “The School offers trips for all year groups, and has recently taken pupils to various destinations, including Sweden, France, Italy, Iceland, Somerset, Dorset, South Africa and the Isle of Wight. Each excursion has equipped pupils with multiple transferable skills and has provided valuable opportunities to teach pupils about the world in which they live,” the school website said.

This move from London to Berkshire helps give the children the opportunity to have somewhat close to a regular childhood. "But this has been driven by what William and Kate want for their children and they have always been resolved to try and have a normal family life," the source also shared.
