Prince Louis May Have His Big Debut This Christmas

Prince William and Kate Middleton have three children in total, including 3-year-old Louis, 5-year-old Charlotte and 7-year-old George. Whenever one of their birthdays comes around, Middleton makes sure to take out her camera for the annual snapshot that followers of the royal family around the world seem to cherish. In the coming week, we can hopefully expect more adorable pics and footage of the young royal Princes and Princess to be.

The Cambridge family's youngest child, Prince Louis, turned 3 years old on Friday, April 23. The royal couple followed tradition, commemorating their son's birthday by uploading a snapshot of the birthday boy to social media. And, as is typical for these birthday photos, Middleton took the adorable picture, which features a beaming Louis as he sits on a red bike and wears his backpack for school.
Previously, Kate has also shared photos of all of her children's first day of nursery school as well as many other important milestones. Taking these photos is a usual routine for many parents all around the globe. Children grow up quickly, but photographs and, in modern times, videos allow everyone to relive moments bygone.

One traditional moment that gets captured for eternity is the so-called Sandringham Christmas walk. This term describes the traditional walk of the royal family from Sandringham House to church on Christmas day. William, Kate and their children have been part of this walk for most of the children's lives. Their youngest Prince Louis, however, has so far not taken part in this royal tradition.

Children grow up quickly, but photographs allow everyone to relive moments bygone. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have therefore taken to capturing their children's lives in photographs over the years.

As a result, there exist a number of cute and adorable pictures of their children that chronicle their growth. Today we especially focus on their youngest, Prince Louis, who has so far received less media coverage than his two elder siblings.

Louis was born on April 23, 2018, at the same hospital where William was born, London's St. Mary's hospital. The prince, who emerged at around 11 a.m., was a healthy 8 pounds, 7 ounces. Beyond being the youngest of the Cambridge bunch, Louis is special in other ways, too. Louis is just fifth in line for the throne, preceded by grandfather Prince Charles, father William and siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Interestingly, Louis was the first male-born heir who would not precede his older sister in royal succession.

William and Kate marked Louis's first day of nursery school on social media. "Three tomorrow! 🚲," the Kensington Royal Instagram account wrote alongside the birthday photo. "Taken earlier this week by The Duchess before he left for his first day of nursery, The Duke and Duchess are pleased to share a new image of Prince Louis. 🎈"

Louis started his first day at preschool at London's Willcocks Nursery School, which is just over a 10-minute walk from Kensington Palace, where the duke and duchess live. The preschool also has a well-earned reputation and good reviews.

However, one thing Prince Louis has so far not taken part in is the traditional Christmas walk. Appearances of the youngest Cambridge royal, who has also not been part of any royal tours so far, have been scarce over the last two years in general due to the Corona pandemic. Both his older siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, have experienced the traditional walk to church on Christmas. While there are concerns that the rise of the omicron variant may cancel this year's Christmas walk, many fans are hopeful that Prince Louis will make his big debut at an official royal tradition this year at Christmas.

If it happens, royal fans can most likely look forward to beautiful photographs of the Cambridge children, maybe even thanks to Kate's fantastic photography skills. Vogue reported that Kate has even been called the royal family's "unofficial photographer" thanks to the gorgeous snaps she takes of her family that intermittently grace the royal family's social media accounts.
